What is wrong with Gears of War 4, and where has the magic gone?

I would like make a formal complaint, and to raise an issue on the Season Pass, Micro-transaction & Connection issues

When Gears of War 4 was announced, we were ecstatic, so thrilled to be able to play another instalment in one of our favourite saga's.

We went onto the store, and looked at the editions that were available, one friend and I bought the season pass & game bundle, whilst the other two bought the standard edition, with the intention on purchasing the maps at a later date when the season pass
was sold separately. We new that from past experience, and from what the store and other websites were saying, that the ONLY way to play the maps was to either own the season pass, or have purchased the maps separately but at a higher price. This we checked
was the case just to be sure, and we were told that that was how it would work

Fast forward several months to the games launched, and when the first maps Glory and Spire are released. My friend and I were playing, and we had our two friends who hadn't yet purchased the season pass in our lobby, on the public playlists. We noticed that
it was to be Glory for the next map, we jokedly laughed by to the other two thinking that they would be kicked out for not having the new maps. However they stayed in, and played a game, then the next map was Spire, and still they remained in the game. We
were surprised and thought there was some loophole they had found as they were in our party. However we then left and the other two stayed on, and they played on Glory a couple more times in their own party. How could this be, they didn't own the season pass,
nor had they bought the maps separately.

To my shock i went online and had a look at Xbox's and Gears' posts on social media, and they said that the new maps were being put on the Public playlists, free of charge, for everyone, even those who haven't bought them, to play. Now when i went to the
chat, and spoke to someone called Angelica, and as we spoke it dawned on me that Gears of War have done something ludicrous, that in the retail world would be a massive blow to consumer confidence, and trust. They had labelled the season pass as the only way
to get the new maps, thereby enticing people to purchase it at a cost of £39.99 or $49.99. However they left it out in the blurb, that anyone can get access to these, and that it is not the season pass in the traditional sense of the word. "Rev up your Lancers
for co-op and multiplayer with the Gears of War 4 Season Pass. Join this VIP experience and score the following perks: the exclusive Vintage VIP Pack featuring Vintage JD and two Vintage weapon skins, permanent access to 24 additional DLC maps (two per month
for a year) for private play on dedicated servers, access to an exclusive Developer Playlist where new maps, modes and features can be tested prior to broad release and Starter Airdrop." THIS IS FALSE MARKETING, AND A BREACH OF THE STANDARD PRACTICE OF TRUST.

You then look further, and you see that usually when a game has a season pass, it realises doesn't charge it's season pass holders for extra DLC. However since launch there have been "Airdrops" which are re-branded micro-transactions. These cleverly make
it look like you are getting a great little bump up for not much money, however if you look at in the the long run, you will actually spend a fortune on these, for something that shouldn't be paid for but earned. You can also pay £6.49 to receive ONE skin
for you guns, to "support" your E-Sports teams.

In Gears of War 3, the most exciting thing about playing, was to earn your way to unlocking an
Onyx Guard skin, or Hoffman, or a fancy ribbon/emblem/gun camo or even a
mutator for Horde. It was an achievement to earn it, and had a huge sense of satisfaction when you reached it, you were one of few who had put in that time and effort into this, and it added a great sense of community to the game.

Now in Gears of War 4, where it seems all the Coalition want is money, and not a sense of community, you either grind through the games, receiving barely any "credits" to spend on a pack where you will in likelihood receive only a random uncommon, and most
certainly NOT what you want. Or you can spend money, your hard earned cash that you have earned IN THE REAL WORLD, one a virtual "Airdrop" and still won't in all likelihood get what you were looking for.

OH ALL THIS EXPENDITURE WOULD BE ON TOP OF THE PRICE OF THE GAME ~£45, AND THE PRICE OF THE SEASON PASS ~£39.99.

When you spend this kind of money on a video game, you would expect that you would be able to hop on, and find a game in 30 seconds or so, like you could, and still can, in Gears of War 3. However you end up waiting on the dodgy matchmaking server for several
minutes, only to be put in a game that you are loosing massively because it is all bots who were in your team, when you want to leave and find a game that actually works and you are with from the start, it turns out that there is no "return to main menu" button,
and you are stuck wasting your time in this game.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GOOD OLD QUITTING PENALTY.

So, you now have managed to get out of that game, and are in a game from the start. However in the bottom left corner you see a connection issue icon, we ask around our friends and everyone has this, and everyone is jumping around the place, even though
some are in London and some in Oxford, so it can't be the actual internet speed. It is in fact the "Dedicated" servers, which are ran very poorly, and cause connection issues for the majority of the time. Even when you play a single player campaign, or Co-op,
or on Horde by yourself you still get the "Jumps" of a bad connection. There isn't even a page where you can join other friends games, from in the Gears of War 4 engine!

GO BACK TO GEARS 3 AND EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT, THE DEDICATED SERVERS WORKED, AND THERE WAS RARELY ANY JUMPINESS.

Finally we reached a game where we had good connection, and we were playing with real people. However at the start we notice that there is a typed message from someone on screen. Whilst in a Gnasher battle someone swings around unnaturally quickly, and pinpoint
accurately hits your head, this is very hard on the Xbox nigh Impossible. This happens continuously through the game, as well as the insulting messages which keep popping up. We realised that, even though we are on the Xbox One, we are playing people
who are on the PC. A system which is more responsive, faster, and easier to use, giving them a massive advantage over us. I remember that several weeks ago, this idea was on a beta playlist, how does this work that it has been approved, when it clearly is
favourable to the PC player!

WHY BRING IN CROSS PLAY, IT SIMPLY DOESN'T WORK

So I ask you;

How is it right, to charge people £35 extra for a season pass, which doesn't give people exclusive content, but only access to it on their private servers which when used don't operate well and with good connection.

How is it right, to charge people a fortune for micro-transactions, when you are already charging them £39.99for the season pass.

How is it right, to take away the sense of accomplishment, of unlocking items, and the sense of community of racing your friends to the cool camo or character skin, and replace these with micro-transactions.

How is it right, to charge people for a season pass, to charge people for xbox live, and to charge people the value of a top tier game. But to provide a lower tier matchmaking system.

How is it right, to ignore you fans, and the community, the vast majority of which after looking over social media threads massive disagree with the micro-transactions, and the lack of ingenuity in this game.

GEARS OF WAR USED TO BE BRILLIANT, IT IS NOW ANOTHER CALL OF DUTY. CREATED JUST TO GRAB MONEY, AND NOT FEED THE COMMUNITY WITH A SENSE OF JOY. THIS SHOULD BE FIXED.

GEARS USED TO BE A GREAT GAME, HOWEVER IT HAS LOST ITS SPARKLE.

I received the 4 xbox 360 gears of war token by playing gears of war ultimate edition, but I can only redeem gears of war 2 code, I wanna play gears of war 3 now but cannot redeem it. what wrong with that, what can I do?
