    what the **** xbox?

Actually I would just buy a new One if that's what I wanted. They're cheap enough.

OP doesn't provide enough information *before* the fact. For example, he says his Xbox was working fine, but that doesn't take into account the general condition of his system before he asked for help. Perhaps it was an older model; perhaps he wasn't taking
care of it and it was caked in dust; perhaps the machine was due to expire and it just stopped working... before the fact? There's no way a standard factory reset would adversely impact the solid state if the console was otherwise working "fine".

thanks i guess i should have been a lot more clear, lets not jump to any conclusions ok because the console is in fact inside a well ventilated open area & is cleaned at least once every other weekend so the dust isn't as bad as you'd expect.... now let
me clarify the "working fine" part, lets see, up until monday it worked perfectly & i had no trouble connecting via wired ethernet connection & me being online up until that point should be proof enough that it worked fine. the only reason it stopped working
is because of the reset... now i know the reset was only to identify the problem but technically since it worked before hand that would mean if i hadn't been told to do the reset i would still be able to use the console.

im not a huge fan of them but gamestop said they would give me $25 for it which is what i hoped for anyways, something like a %10 discount towards a new console

Hello Para Bellum, just so we're clear: I'm no Microsoft boffin and certainly in no position to make a 'scientic' explanation of your problem. For the most part, we're *all* just customers and sharing our thoughts or grievances in a public space. When you
said you performed a "factory reset", what did you mean by this? Powering down the console or unplugging it from the power socket and rebooting it? This is standard procedure for most problems, but the fact that your console didn't spring back to life suggests
there *may* have been a problem with the PSU. Have you checked the power cable?

Also, you didn't state how old your console was, and whether it was purchased new or otherwise. Nobody likes to get a raw deal, but consumer devices don't last forever - they inevitably break down. Finally, in your initial post you said everything was fine
until you noticed the wireless receiver wasn't working. Just out of curiosity: why would you choose to use wireless when wired is the optimal connection (unless you planned on moving the console and ethernet wasn't available)?
