What is this clicking sound coming from my Xbox one???

My less than 1yr old xbox is making a clicking noise and starts running real slow after it starts. The only thing i have done to fix it temporarily is literally smack it with my hand and sometimes it’ll start working fine after a few whacks... something
not right here. Thanks for any input

Usually the hard drive, maybe the readerhead is getting faulty. I would wait a few weeks and see how it progresses. If it gets worse you can contact xbox support and get your console repaired.

Try performing a hard reset by pressing the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts off completely. Then unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.

My new XBOX ONE had the small clicking sound coming from the fan so I contacted XBOX support and they told me to unplug it from the surge protector i was using and plug it straight into the wall and the clicking stop.

Consoles will typically make some noises. If you feel the sound your console is making is louder than it should be or is abnormal, you may want to explore having it repaired. If that's the route you would like to choose, you can initiate that process via
the Online Service Center.

Both the HDMI Audio and Optical Audio is set to "Stereo Uncompressed" in my XBOX Settings Menu.

Yes, I have tried connecting the Sound Bar to my TV. I don't have an Optical Input on my TV, so I used the Red / White RCA cables. The Sound Bar does not work from the TV - because it is not on the same HDMI input.

(I have 7 inputs on my TV: XBOX One is on Input 7, and my cable box is on Input 8. The RCA Inputs are on Input 4.) When I connect the Red / White RCA cables to my cable box though, the Sound Bar works perfectly.

This is what is confusing. HDMI sound and RCA sound is coming fine from the cable box. But, only HDMI sound is coming from the XBOX One. The Sound Bar is silent.

What is this clicking sound coming from my Xbox one???
