What is the process to duplicate a saved file of a game on a External HD and then restore it ...

I store all my games on my XBONE's HD, but there is a game (Metal Gear Solid V) that I want to save at specific point, then transfer that save to an external HD, complete something on the XBONE HD version, then if possible, delete the XBONE HD save, and
restore the external HD's original save.

I hope I'm not making it more complicated than it should. Let me know if I need to clear anything else up, or need to give more information. Thank you.

Is there a way to clear notifications?

the only way right now is to factory reset, i would recommend getting all your saved files on a External HD and then reload the files after factory restore and that's it. but its a pain in the butt.

 

Can't transfer or copy game saved data from internal hard drive to external hard drive.

Hello everyone!

I had to get an external hard drive because I ran out of space on my Xbox One (for some reason it only came with 365 GB of internal hard drive space). However, I transferred all my games to my 2 TB external hard drive, but it didn't transfer over the saved
game data and therefore the games that require it, don't load the saved data because the game is on the external HD while the saved data is on the internal HD.

Is there a way to transfer the saved data from the internal HD to the external HD?

Or should I just transfer the games that I want to play back to the internal hard drive because there is no fix for this issue?

 

If you click the menu button on the game tile and then select Manage Game. It will give you options for moving the game save to your external device.

One thing to remember though... all the games are saved in the cloud too.

 

Does it give me the option to copy the game? Or just move it? I'm sure I could find out upon hooking up an external HD.

Regarding games being saved to the cloud, can you tell me how I can access these saves or where I can see them? I'm really unfamiliar with the cloud, and how games are stored on there.

 

You can't copy save games, only transfer them.

What you could do is set your external HDD as your storage and save your game where you want it, then quit the game. (Press MENU and select QUIT) That will sync your save with the cloud storage.

Then unplug your external HDD and the game will pull down your save game from the cloud. That way you have the save point you want on your external HDD. Next time you play though with the external HDD you will get a notice that the versions don't match and
which do you want to use so has limited improvement for what you are after doing.
