That's exactly why I own all the platforms I do.....It's all about options whether it be games, where in the house I want to game and even the position I want to game in (recliner, desk chair).

  3. I should point out that the price I put for my PC is if I had bought everything brand new, that something I rarely do to be honest.

Most people already have a PC, so at the very least you'll be able to bring across the hard drive, speakers, keyboard and mouse, and the case. I don't think I've had a completely new PC since the very first one I bought.

The Xbox One is cheaper than a gaming PC and requires less maintenance. I have nothing against PC gaming but I remember it being a hassle in the past and I enjoy my Xbox One.

I went from PC gaming back to console gaming for the BIG screen and the BIG surround sound. It's a give and take thing. When it was just PS3 and 360, the PC was favored hands down.

For those that keep claiming gaming PCs are high priced - my gaming PC A8-5500 cpu was $350. The video card was $150. Not to mention many already have a PC with plenty of cpu power. All they need is a video card.

  6. My PC has never needed any more maintenance than my consoles. What
it offers me however is the chance for preventative maintenance. After all I wonder if I would have had to return my 360 because of the RRoD if I'd been allowed to clean the inside myself.

That's the thing, you remember it being a hassle in the past and it was. These days though there is very little difference between consoles and PC convenience wise. Hell if I wanted I could use the One to do my office work. The lines are so blurred that
    they are vanishing quickly.

  7. Changing the liquid cooling is a chore but looks cool under uv

I'm not sold on liquid cooling because it is only really needed if you are overclocking and I don't like doing that. To my mind if you reach the point you need to overclock, then you'd be better off buying something new.

  9. Mine ain't overclocked the liquid cooling came in a deal with case I wouldn't have it other wise but it looks cool I wouldn't overclock spent to much time and money to risk it just saving now for new graphics cards

I don't think people overclock nearly as much as they used to and even when everyone was doing it I think it was more about 3dMark score bragging rights rather than game performance ;p

I think we are at one of those stages where PC hardware has surpassed the developers ability to use it.

This is so confusing, no one seems to know what they are talking about. Everyone says different things... What I understood and heard was:

-Xbox One will get to run on Windows 10.

-PC will get to run on Windows 10.

-PC Windows 10 and Xbox One will get to play together on cross platform.

-Xbox One will get to stream games on PC Windows 10. (Who want to play on a smaller screen? Or, due to cross platform, you will be able to play with a mouse and a keyboard so you have equal chance to win in a shooter against a PC player? It is easier for
a PC gamer to play shooters then a console gamer, I think it was proven.)

-PC Windows 10 will get an Xbox Live App. (Will it be free? We think it should because we don't think PC player will pay for this App if they already use Steam and other free services.)

-PC Windows 10 will get to play Fable Legend and Halo 5. (By streaming their game from an Xbox One console? So this completely exclude PC gamer from playing those 2 games? The commercial video showing those features seems to tell PC gamer will be able to
play those 2 games with their Xbox One friends)

I think there is something illogical about all this.

  12. The point of having an Xbox One is for the exclusives. Yes, you will get to stream your Xbox One games to your PC or tablet, but you'll need an Xbox One for that and Phil Spencer has mentioned that Microsoft are looking into Windows
PC streaming to Xbox One. I think streaming is the future and wouldn't be surprised if next gen Xbox and Playstation turn into a service, and are able to play Xbox Live, PSN on any device as long as you pay the sub fee.

Gaming on a PC really is not that expensive, well it is if you want it to be. You're in control and that is the beauty of it. My second PC cost me just shy of £600 including Windows 7, monitor, mouse and keyboard, and speakers.
Of course the Xbox One is cheaper, but can the Xbox One do all the things a PC can?.
