What is the point in buying a Wheel for racing games

Seriously what is the point in buying a wheel for racing games when you can't map the buttons and dials properly?

Why on earth would i want to map buttons A, B, X, Y 4 times instead of being able to actually use the wheel properly and map the buttons to use for specific reasons when playing F1.

I cannot believe after so many years this is still an issue, its an absolute disgrace to be perfectly honest that extra button mapping cannot be used on wheels

I tried a racing wheel back in the 360 days but it never worked well for me so I just went back to the controller.

The number one reason i go with the wheel is because of the feedback.

I feel the same, never really see the point in them to be honest but some people find them helpful

Whilst lacking in some areas I feel using a wheel is much more natural for racing games.

Hopefully better design and mapping options come forward which it should in time following feedback and reviews being given

I think its just something of the experience/a gimmick. A lot of people I know who have and use racing wheels frequently have somewhat ridiculous setups that they've spent about the price of a car on. (That's an exaggeration but you get the point.) Its kind
of like how people buy arcade boards for fighting games, its all about the experience and what feels natural to the game play... even though you're at some minor disadvantages when trying to use the menus with those specific controllers as they're meant for
the game itself and not all the setup stuff.
