What is the best gaming headset that you have owned?

Headsets that I have owned (with current amazon price):

    1. Turtlebeach x41 - $131
    2. Logitech G930 - $110
    3. Turtlebeach XP Seven - $220
By far and away I believe the x41s are the best gaming headset I have played with. They are light, comfortable and produce the best '3d' sound. I will warn you that they are fragile. I had to replace my chat cord (no biggy, $3) and the battery cover ($3).
Trust me, the x41 are worth every penny.

I am considering the A50's once I resell my xp sevens (and g930s), but I just don't know if the will be worth it. Xbox one doesn't even support dolby digital, so what's the point?

    :)

  4. What is the best gaming headset that you have owned?

AXPro - $139.99 Got the reduced pre-order price for the first of 700.

ROCCAT Kave - $130 When I bought it when it was first available

Astro A50s - $250 when I bought it on sale plus $25 in store credit from Best Buy.

It's hard to decide on one since they are all great for what I use them for.

Roccat Kave are great because of the X-fi sound card paired with it and configured just the way I want plus games that take advantage of the X-fi features. Can be insanely loud and with bass redirection configured hits a sweet spot between sounding ike a
sub-woofer and actually rumbling. Also uses discrete drivers for every direction.

Tritton AXPro great alternative to using my surround sound. Works great with my 360 and PS3. Tritton customer support is great. Even out of warranty still got a brand new replacement of the last model revision. Tritton continually improved them so I got
a better microphone, better inline remote, single switching mode DC power supply instead of the two standard and heavy transformer types. Also like the Kave has discrete drivers for every direction which I like for any 5.1 Dolby Digital sound source. Works
great with the PS3's ability to convert any format audio stream from Blu-Ray into Dolby 5.1

Astro A50 I got for my Xbox One since I have it hooked up to a different TV. I was expecting maybe some background noise being wireless. Absolutely no background noise. AXPro with no audio stream has more noise from a combination of power supply, Dolby Decoder,
and long cable. Really like it being wireless and they are easily the most comfortable. Have been using my own headset adapter with a 2.5mm jack added into the included headset puck. I couldn't do this without the degree to which you can change ratio of voice
chat versus game volume. Trying it with my AXPro I could barely hear chat even with the inline voice volume turned all the way up. Should get the official MS headset adapter in the mail today. Also once they add Dolby Digital 5.1 via optical in March they
    should be perfect.

If I had to recommend one for a friend who just got any new console I would go with the A50s. Biggest reason is being wireless which is a feature that can't be understated. They sound great, are comfortable, and wireless using 5.8GHz pretty much nothing
else I use that is wireless can interfere with them. Biggest thing going against them is you really need to use a PC to update their firmware which fixes a lot of glaring issues. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people just took these back to the store
never knowing some issue they couldn't stand was actually fixed.

Big thumbs up cat. My chat adapter is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow, along with my Astro A50s! I can't wait to give these a try.

The PC part is actually a bonus for me. I just build a custom pc. I plan on using the Astros for my pc, 360, xbox one, ps3 and ps4. Most headsets don't have the versatility that the A50s have. I can cut down on total number of headsets and wires.

The A50s price tag is large, but in the end you get what you pay for.
