    What Is Special about USB port 1?


    Can someone please explain why the Kinect needs to be plugged into USB port 1 on the XOX. Why is it different to all the other USB ports on the XOX?

    What Is Special about USB port 1?

    According to the
    instructions     for the Kinect adapter, it is supposed to be plugged into the left-most port on the back of the Xbox One S/X. There's no note of what happens if you were to plug it into the other USB ports.

    Best case: Kinect is detected, it was just a simple suggestion all along.

    Worst case: Nothing happens, and the Kinect sensor won't be detected.

    I thought maybe it has something to do with Data transfer, due to 1080 HD video and audio, closest point to processor. if you plug it in say usb 2 or 3 and have something else other than Kinect, it interferes with the data transmission. I might be wrong,

    As Internet Expert has explained no reason has been provided by Microsoft for the requirement to do this. The two possible reasons I can think of is 1. Not all USB ports deliver the same power output. and 2. The port needs a to support a certain data transfer
    speed.

    As Internet Expert has explained no reason has been provided by Microsoft for the requirement to do this. The two possible reasons I can think of is 1. Not all USB ports deliver the same power output. and 2. The port needs a to support a certain data transfer
