What is protocol for this here?

First off, I want to stress that no, this doesn't affect me and/or bother me, but it is slightly annoying.

The issue: There is a user here on the forums who constantly spams threads looking for people to add him. This isn't so much an issue, but he/she is creating these threads in games like Fallout New Vegas which is a single player game AND he/she has never
even played FO:NV. The game's forums are littered with this person's consistent need to add a new thread every month in about 30 different sections asking for friends.

I've never reported any of them, because I don't think they are against the ToS (maybe spam?), but yea... anyone know what the protocol is? Anyone else see all of these threads?

    :)

Getting nat type strict on one of two xbox's connected to Netgear CG300d-RG Router/Modem PLEASE HELP

One xbox is open and the other is strict.

Port 88 is opened with UDP protocol

Another Port 88 is opened with TCP protocol.

3074 is opened with both protocols

And port 53 is opened with both protocols. PLEASE help I have no idea what else to do. Everyone seems to have NAT issues except with this router, yet this is the standard router / modem charter gives out!

  3. NAT moderate after port forwarding

    Hi taidara

    I have forwarded the following:

    - Protocol UDP Port Range 88 - 88

    - Protocol UDP Port Range 3074 - 3074

    - Protocol TCP Port Range 3074 - 3074

    - Protocol UDP Port Range 53 - 53

    - Protocol TCP Port Range 53 - 53

    - Protocol TCP Port Range 80 - 80

    - Protocol UDP Port Range 500 - 500

    - Protocol UDP Port Range 3544 - 3544

    - Protocol UDP Port Range 4500 - 4500

I have UpnP enabled and ip address for the xbox one set to 'always use this IP address'. (I followed the following instructions ...forums.xbox.com/.../1631764.aspx
    )

There seems to be a lot of conflicting advice out there. For the avoidance of doubt, please could you provide me with a definitive step by step of what I need to do to resolve this?

    Thanks, I appreciate your help.

Sudden loss of Internet Connectivity - ICMP responses message

@adamma666 Do you still have filter 1 assigned to the outbound and call filter lists under protocol filter?

    Input Filter Sets:

    protocol filters=

device filters= 4 <-- I'm assuming this is what you have here based on your post

    Output Filter Sets:

    protocol filters= 1

device filters= 4 <-- I'm assuming this is what you have here based on your post

    Call Filter Sets:

    protocol filters= 1

device filters= 4 <-- I'm assuming this is what you have here based on your post

You need filter 1 assigned as shown. That prevents NetBIOS traffic from being sent out to the ISP network. Having this escape your LAN could open you up to attack. The error message you report sounds like you may have tried to change the wrong filter
type (i.e. did you try to put the 1 next to device?)

I can't connect some multiplayer games even though I have internet connection

You can say something like this to them:

"I need to open some ports in my router, these are the ports:

*Then you can read the numbers and the protocol (UDP, TCP)*"

They know what is UDP and TCP (Both are protocols)

So, just say to them the port number and next the required protocol (or protocols for each one)

    download/install times

No as xbox and ps4 and nintendo uses different protocols and ports

And yes consoles are treated differently
ok? so does that mean that there is something wrong with the ports or protocols in relation to my xbox? is there a way to figure out what/if is wrong with the ports or protocols?
