I don't necessarily think it's that easy to start up new servers, but personally I would've preferred that they wait to release the game until they could be sure that the servers were working properly. I mean, didn't they themselves state that the main purpose
of the Beta was to test for strain on the servers?

That being said, I just woke up and checked my Facebook to see this post from the official Battlefield 3 page: "We are going to perform maintenance to improve stability for all platforms on our servers. Therefore, online connectivity will be down from 8:00
to 9:00 UTC. Thank you for your patience."

So at least they're not only acknowledging the problem, but fixing it in an extremely timely manner, which is a lot more than I'd expect from any other company. Still hoping for that muffin basket though.

Im with Light. It hasnt even been a week yet, not has the game launched in Europe. Many of you seem to believe that EA can just plug in 20 new servers for the game like theyre changing a lightbulb. Everybody always wants every game to have dedicated servers
over P2P hosting, well, this is something we'll have to put up with for a short time if we want dedicated servers. Im sure if this was COD, many of you wouldnt even be complaining.
