What is happening to gaming in Australia

1. Australia's relatively small population struggles to keep non niche games alive i.e. Gears of War, Titanfall, BF hardline etc.

2. Too many consoles on the market. 360, xbone, ps3, ps4 and PC.

3. Games are crazily overpriced compared to most other countries.

4. The new generation of consoles aren't that much better than the last.

Xbox One had left a sour taste ever since it's disastrous launch headed by Don Mattrick. Microsoft failed to produce the amazing experience the 360 had when it first hit the market. IMO Xbox One is a sluggish machine the produces minimally better graphics than
the 360, there's no real reason to go out and buy one.

Almost year ago I went out and built my own high end gaming PC, thinking I'd get back onto the old master race band wagon and this would fix my troubles. However, I was shocked by how much PC gaming had declined in just under 10 years. Most popular games on
console were barely alive on PC, servers were barren except free to play games or the most popular MMORPG's. Maybe it's just online FPS that are in decline? Are there just too many games for Australia to keep alive, maybe it's time to move to the UK or USA
(shudder)?

Now that I've got that off my chest, think I'll go watch youtube on my gaming rig ......

I live in Australia. My local currency setting Australia, language is English. It was fine last month so I don't know whats changed..

If anything helps I've also gotten 2 of my Australian friends to also see if its happening to them and it is.

 

I'm not sure what you are experiencing mate but I for one am having a great time gaming in Australia!

Prices are a little higher sure but with places like Target selling day one releases for around $69 the jump isn't too high. As for finding games there is a healthy population online whether they be Aussies or from overseas.

 

Dude. I have both Xbox One. And high end pc. FX 8350, GTX 970 Windforce Gigabyte, 32gb ram, windows 10.

And I am age 42 avid gamer. And this year is the best year of gaming. Even last year. Games like Witcher 3, Fallout 4, And this year we got Far Cry Primal, Dvision, UFC 2, Dark Souls 3, Quantum Break, Hitman.

As for game price. Never buy from steam. You can buy for example. a PC Key on ebay for $60 for far cry primal, instead of the $85, $90 on steam.

As for Xbox One prices. Your right. $99.95. Is even more than PC Steam prices. Thats why most games I get now on PC.

Dont get me wrong. Xbox One is my favorite console. I hate PS4, I hate controller, I hate the fact you cannot upgrade storage, if you do, with that Data Nyko. You cannot use disc games, rest mode. Its laggy, freezes the menu,

Xbox One is alot better. And most games. Witcher 3, and alot of other games, I have on both PC and Xbox One.

I also love the Elite Controller. Best controller ever. Doesnt stick, or squeak like other controllers, very high quality, super expensive, but worth it.
