What is going on with Miracast support?

I know the Wireless Display app was released to preview participants like a year ago. Is this still in preview or what?

Xbox One & Miracast on Surface 2

Does anyone know what is going on with Miracast support? I am able to use PlayTo on my Surface to send to my Xbox and Xbox One, but I can't seem to find a way to get Miracast working. My Surface 2 had no problem detecting my Netgear Push2TV and using it.
Any chance it isn't supported yet, and if so, any idea when it will be

Xbox One Miracast support

I'm wondering if Xbox One is going to Support Miracast sense it haves wifi direct built inside the system. A great feature for the Xbox One to have Windows 8.1 one running wireless on the console to the TV like a extender. Something similar to Windows
Media Center but its pretty much on steroids for the next Xbox. Anybody? In other words Microsoft could also include Miracast support in its upcoming Xbox One, making it possible for Windows 8.1 devices that are compatible with Miracast to wirelessly project
their screens via the Xbox One. Miracast works with wifi direct I believe

Hi Riekopo,

You are correct. The wireless display app is still a preview feature, and you should see it on an upcoming version of the OS. That said, Xbox historically doesn't provide timelines, and it's basically there when they announce or it just shows up.

I would also like to see miracast. I recently picked a sp3 and am hoping that something is in the works. The dongle news was slightly disappointing in that I already have a $500 dongle hooked up to my tv.

Thanks for the reply guys! Yes, I saw that post earlier, and feel like you do that if it was working then, it should be available now. All I'd really like is for Microsoft to say "Hey, we're working on it, hopefully it will be available soon." Not just hoping
and guessing. Thanks!
