What if my xbox1 wont read game and dvd discs but does read blue ray and glitching mid way...

That's usually a problem with the disc drive. The laser that reads standard DVDs is broken. The laser that reads blu-rays might be on the way out if it's glitching.

does it read other discs and does it read other blueray discs, if not could you try a normal dvd and see if that plays, if it does then its the blue ray laser diode that may have failed and needs repair

If the power cycle doesn't work, then I'm sorry but your console will require a repair.

The drive that reads discs in your Xbox One is a Blu-ray optical drive. It uses a blue type laser to read the data etched into the Blu-ray discs that Xbox One game discs use. Xbox 360 discs on the other hand are DVD discs. DVD discs are read by a red laser.
Both the red and the blue lasers are built into the consoles optical drive as a complete package.

Sometimes one of the laser mechanisms will fail. So you'll either have Xbox One discs (and Blu-ray films) read fine, but DVD discs - both Xbox games, and DVD movie discs - not be read. It can also happen the other way around.

There is no way to fix this yourself. You would have to send the whole unit off to Microsoft for a repair.

May I point some things out.

Xbox one games on disc are stored on Blu-ray discs. Only the Xbox 360 and the original Xbox use the 'DVD' format.

What difference does this make?

All Blu-ray drives can read DVD discs as well as BD discs, but the laser diode to read DVD discs work at a different frequency to Blu-ray. As I understand it, these diodes are contained in the same package in the drive.

If a hardware fault occurs with the drive, it may manifest with ability to still read BD discs but not DVD, or the other way round.

If your console can't Xbox 360 games, but can read Xbox One games, it usually means the drive is faulty.

xbox one discs are blue ray that use the blue diode

xbox 360 discs are dvd that use the red diode.

can you insert a dvd film into the xbox and see if it picks it up, if not then the red diode(that reads dvd discs) could have failed.
