@Isaac And I'd love it. Too bad Nintendo can't take that chance as all their more adult themed games sale poorly. That's why we got Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge on 360 and PS3.

Knowing what Microsoft did to Rare they'd probably destroy Nintendo with Kinect crap and Free to Play bs.

Wont ever happen, Nintendo even though struggling is still a major player in the market. Even if they were in trouble they would never sell out to Microsoft.

 

No, please. I've already seen MS ruin a number of things over the last 5~ years or so, and the video game industry NEEDS competition. Nintendo still has plenty of resources and they still had the best selling console the last generation, so it's nowhere
near time for them to throw in the towel.

After seeing that list of cancelled Rare games, MS buying Nintendo would be a confirmation of all my fears unless they change this gen and give Rare true creative freedom.

 

I'm sure Nintendo will put out another game with Mario, Luigi or both on the cover and gamers will flock to their console in droves.

 

Rare went from being a superb dev to a really crappy one thanks to Microsoft's actions but Rare is also at fault because that was their decision.

Nintendo doesn't just make games of the Mario franchise, and Luigi isn't that great of a marketing character.

I'd like Luigi's Mansion 2 for the Wii U rather than play it on my 3DS.

Let's assume Microsoft bought Sony, Sega and Nintendo what would happen to the development studious? Be trashed to make crappy unplayable Kinect games as we've already seen before.

Microsoft's Xbox consoles are only good for multiplatform games (Original Xbox & Xbox 360) and even in that aspect PlayStation 4 seems to be dominating too (Tomb Raider on PS4 is 60fps and XO is 30fps).

Microsoft needs to release a Kinect-less Xbox One bundle.

Yeah, that's why Nintendo is doing so awesome right now and MS is failing right? In reality if it wasn't for casuals and newbs buying the Wii Nintendo might already be out of the console business.

 

People were bought into the hype but unfortunately for Microsoft it's PS4s that's selling a lot better.
