What Hz will the Xbox series x support

    Hello

i am looking to buy the xbox series x when it comes out this 2020 holiday period and am looking to upgrade my tv to 4k , i am aware that it supports 60Hz and 120Hz however i live in the uk and our tvs start at 50Hz and the go up to 100Hz so i has just wondering
how could i get 120Hz in the uk and that if i was to use a 100Hz tv on the new console series x what Hz would i get as well as what would be my heighest fps i could achive

What Hz will the Xbox series x support

all modern tvs in the uk now support 60hz or above, if you want a descent screen with good fps support go for a monitor that supports 120hz and 144hz.

50hz is not an outdated system really as the old cathode tube tv's were synced to the power distribution, that does not apply to modern screens.

The series x will be like a pc, it will be scalable but overall depends on what the devs do with the games, if they can pull 4k and 60fps which is most likely what they will target on a lot of games as most owners of a console use them on tv's.

Xbox Series S does not and will not support 2K at 120hz with HDMI 2.0

    HDMI 2.0 only supports 1440p60 or 1080p120.
If you want a higher resolution with 120fps, you'll need a HDMI 2.1 cable.

Your Series S also supports 4k with up to 120fps, just like the Series X.

You can find more info here Set up 4K gaming at 120 Hz on Xbox Series X | Xbox Support when you expand the "Enable 120 Hz without 4K" Tab.

I can't get 4k@120hz even though I have the things to support it

very few games support 120 Hz on Xbox series S,

What is the make and model of your television?

Can my Xbox series s run a 1080p 165hz monitor?

Hello, David R. I'm Arturo, and I'll be glad to provide assistance with your inquiry today.

Xbox Series X and S consoles support a maximum frequency of 120 Hz. Therefore, you will not able to set or see 60 or 120 Hz.

Besides that, it is important to clarify that you need to check if the monitor you want to get supports 120 Hz via the HDMI port, most monitors support 120 Hz and above via Display Port only.

You can check if your monitor supports 120 Hz via HDMI, if the timing is exactly 120 Hz and not (for example) 119.99 Hz and more by checking the manual or contacting the manufacturer.

I hope you find this answer helpful to your inquiry.

    Kind regards,

    Arturo.
