It's way more faster paced. Spies being over-powered though? Not really. If you your team doesn't have good communication then sure but it all comes down to how to operate as a team and what builds you have.

It's not 1:1 Chaos Theory but it isn't supposed to be and i'm okay with that. I love the mode. If you want to try it and need help, don't hesitate to ask.

[/quote]Thanks, would like to try it some time in the near future so will probably take you up on that offer.

I remember the learning curve from Pandora and Chaos the SvM was quite overwhelming in the beginning so some guidance would be more than welcome.

The faster pace of Conviction has reared its ugly head in Blacklist to my dismay since slow motion does not really seem to be an option anymore which is wat I really liked on the older titles.

Sam always seems to be in a rush nowadays as if he needs to cut down on his cafeine intake.

  2. Wilko: Yes. I do very much.

Cyanidal: Yeah, but I try to look at what it is then what it isn't. I think its my favorite SP after Chaos Theory.

    .

Way back in the day when I wasn't patient enough or good enough at games (we're talking WAY back in the day, relatively) I couldn't stand the first two Splinter Cell games.

    .

After enjoying Blacklist and enjoying it, though I felt like it would have made a good Rainbow Six title, I'm interested in playing the older ones. I remember enjoying Double Agent, I believe, though I did get stuck quite early. Wouldn't mind going back
    to it.

I got clothes. Nothing gaming related, but my wife did get me tickets to go home in February. Sure it will be cold, but I haven't been home in over a year.

The Blacklist campaign is definitely enjoyable and offers plenty of versatility, challenging you to replay it in different ways.

However the storyline seems quite generic following the beaten path of the evil A-rab terrorists versus the mighty US of A.

Definitely give Double Agent another try Bob and if you have a PS3 consider picking up the Splinter Cell HD Trilogy for a bargain price to play the originals.

As I mentioned, my sister smashed Blacklist so I bought the two previous ones and I saw the HD collection and was disappointed to learn it was only on PS3. I did have a PS3, but no longer. Strange games to be on the PS3 only : (

  10. You really aren't missing if you don't play the first two. Between the terrible checkpoint system and the omnipotent AI, they have aged terribly. Chaos Theory you should definitely play though.

Really? I don't remember the AI in the first Splinter Cells to be omnipotent, challenging yes but unfair?

Anyhow I haven't played those two since their heyday but I hold very fond memories of them nonetheless.

Might go back and replay them on my PS2 to see myself how well they aged.
