So my regular subscription will just continue after the 6 months is up?

No. If you already had xbox live gold then when you add an xbox gamepass ultimate subscription (which includes Xbox live gold) it upgrades your existing Xbox live gold subscription to gamepass ultimate (hence why your gold subscription "disappeared")

So lets say for example before you added the gamepass ultimate subscription you had 6 months of xbox live gold left. When you added the 6 month gamepass code youd essentially now have 12 months of gamepass ultimate in this above example.

Thanks, to be honest I thought this may have been an issue with the shared subscription. That when a user has the Gold that comes with Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Gamepass Ultimate, that when one user attempts to play online, then another user sharing that same subscription tries to play online with the same person is causes subscription authentication issues perhaps. So if you don't have live gold that comes with Xbox Gamepass Ultimate or just Gamepass which does not come with gold, it is trying to use your friend's subscription verification on your account while they are already using it.

However, if you both have access to Xbox live gold then that probably isn't happening. Could you clarify if you have just Gamepass or Xbox GamePass Ultimate?

It is depends on how you plan on gaming over the time left on your subscription. If you are not interested in gamepass or gamepass for PC then I would not convert. The whole point of gamepass ultimate is to bundle together Xbox live gold, Xbox gamepass and
Xbox gamepass for PC.

If all you like is Xbox gold, then ultimate would not be for you. So, keep that in mind.
