What happens to my trial period if I upgrade to Gold?

I am wondering what would happen to a 14-day trial, for example, if I upgraded to a year of Gold membership seven days into the trial? Would my Gold membership last one year and seven days? Or would those unused days from the trial be forfeit? Also, how
long are trial codes typically good for? I'm trying to figure out if I should:

A) redeem a trial code that I have and use all fourteen days before redeeming my year subscription code.

-or-

B) Redeem them both back to back.

Does that make sense? I want to get the most bang for my buck. Anyone know the answer to this question?

Trial codes do not stack. So if you want to use all of the 14 days, you would need to use the trial and then use the subscription after the trial ends. Otherwise, the gold code will overwrite the 14 day code.

Trial codes are usually either 48 hours, 7 days, or 14 days. Keep in mind that trials do not change your account status to gold and will only give you access to some benefits of online multiplayer. Some codes will also only work with the games they came
with.

 

Thanks, that answers my main question exactly! I was also wondering how long a typical code was valid for, in other words, how long can I hold on to a code without using it before it expires?

 

Oh okay. I misunderstood. It typically varies depending on the code. Some of them may have an expiration date on them and some of them don't so those could last for years.
