What happens to my games and apps when i buy an xbox one x

Good afternoon all,

I currently have an xbox one, but looking to upgrade to an xbox one x at christmas. The original xbox one will be passed to my son and the one x will replace it for everyday use. What happens with the games that are installed on the original. My son and
I don't play too many ofthe same games, but can the games be installed on two xbox's at the same time? Also, will it cause trouble if there are 2 xbox's on at the same time that use my account to log on??

Hope you all can provide some info

Xbox One X and External Drive not showing updates for games/apps

I have all of my games and apps on an external drive and when I got the Xbox One X I had plugged in my external drive from my original Xbox One in the Xbox One X. So for the first couple of weeks, I really wasn't thinking of it but then I began noticing
that I would not get any updates for my games or apps. I have the settings set to where they don't download automatically and I had set my Xbox One X as my home console and I also have it as the external drive is where stuff gets downloaded there. In other
words basically the same settings as I had for my original Xbox One. Then after I had noticed I wasn't seeing any updates, I had plugged in my external drive in my original Xbox One and that is when I seen I had 7 updates (5 for apps and 2 for games). I had
asked about it and I never got a response as to why. All I was asked was what did I have it on, ie was the updates set to automatically update and is the X the home console, and after I said the X is the home console and the updates are not set to automatically
update, I never got a response back. Now its a couple weeks since then and I am still not seeing any updates for my games/apps on my Xbox One X.

I shouldn't have to go through every single game and app to see if there is any update especially having 110 games and 65 apps. That would be too time consuming to do that and I shouldn't have to switch between the original Xbox One and Xbox One X to get
any updates for games and apps.

So I was wondering if anyone has had this issue as well.

If you leave your original One set as your Home console, your son can still access any games from your account. As long as you're signed into Live, you can download and play your games on the One X. You can't sign into 2 consoles at the same time.

I've done all off this already. From what I see my xbox is having connection issues even while is connected via ethernet cable worst on wifi. Is this and issue with xbox one x you guys aware of. When I'm playing multiplayer games it works perfect. So it
only happens when I'm doing updates or when I buy a digital game and I have to download it.

I will have to wait until my dad go to sleep because he's on his Xbox series X now .

I have powered cycle my Xbox series X and still it says that am on the home screen when am on Disney plus .

Am at a total loss of what is happening with the apps

Thank you for affirming, it's not just me.

Same deal. I upgraded from the original Xbox One to a Series X. I could manage games from both the Xbox app and Game Pass app to my original Xbox One. I put my Series X into service on 1/28/21. Apparently ,from what I have seen there must have been app updates to the Game Pass app.

Now as you said, I cannot manage or install Game Pass apps remotely from the Game Pass app to the Series X. However, it looks like the Xbox App can manage the Series X.

I also factory reset the original Xbox One and packed it up. I also removed my original Xbox One from the Devices tab on my account.microsoft.com page and made sure my Series X was set as my home xbox.

Pretty confident that this is not me nor you.

Figured I would mention I have the same issue and hope they fix it soon.

For what it is worth, you can filter games in the Xbox app on your phone to show Game Pass games along with optimized for SeriesX|S and platform as Xbox One. Then you can at least see the Game Pass games in the Xbox app and remote install them that way as a work around.
