What Happened To The XBox ONE In Japan?

We already know that Japan's never been big on the Xbox.

But they did say they were releasing it there and that there would be Japanese games.

Where are these?

I haven't.

 

September was the last I heard.

Would not expect much though, home consoles in Japan are about as popular as shell-suits now.

You want Japanese games you are going to have to go hand-held.

 

The Xbox One pre-orders in Japan are promising at least. Best figures Xbox has had there in like forever. Not sure whether they will be stayers though. Square Enix is about the only developer for Xbox I can think of that has a strong base in Japan but their
games aren't really 'Japanese'. Asia will be opened up to Xbox a lot more soon and they have azure servers already but how much they actually embrace the company is yet to be seen.

 

The Xbox One launches in September. Pre-orders are indeed promising but, Xbox has never sold much in Japan. The PS4 isn't doing well at the moment either, so that doesn't bode well for the Xbox.

Ms though are really pushing for the Japanese market and have 70 developers and publishers signed up over there. Time will tell.

That's really encouraging.

I wondered if the idea had quietly died the death because there wasn't a peep about Japanese titles at E3.

Looks like there's going to be more than enough region free Japanese productions to keep us going come September.

If going by per orders. XB1 will do well. But that remain to be seeing if translated as long trim sales.
