    What happened to the quality of xbox controllers?


    I've been playing on Xbox since the 360. And over the course of 5 years, I had to replace my controller once. And that is only because I spilled something on it. Bought an xbox one in 2015. After 3 years I had to replace my controller when the right bumber stopped working due to wear. It was another 3 years before I had to replace for the same reason. Souls games are torture on players AND controllers lol. However, since 2020 no controller I've owned has lasted much longer than a year. Dead bumpers, outrageous stick drift, or in the case of my the controller that came with my series x, just stop turning on for no reason. I don't understand. I shouldn't have to drop over $150 on an elite controller to have longevity in my purchase.

    My day one console made a grinding noise so instead of sending it off to MS I just took it back to retail and they swapped it for a titan fall edition there and then, so I recommend that if you still have a retail guarantee to go down that rout, much faster.

    That's some bad luck right there. Quality on my Day one console has been superb! Over a year now and still quiet as a mouse.

    The one thing that has worked with any consistency is the actual hardware in the system. It's the software that keeps failing me. The OS, bugs in games.....and well, what ever seems to always go on server side with MS that causes XBL to act up if not go
    down.

    I tend to agree with Hellnback ref silver complainers with really bad fortune where Ones are concerned.

    Never had a problem. My XB has actually been turned on for more than 99% of the time I have had it.

    I think I know what the deal is tho. Seems to only happen to people with generic silver accounts with gamer scores under 250 :)
