How I get a refund for the cancelled xbox live to top it up again?

That makes no sense - they advertise it as $1 for a month to try the game pass - surely they have to reinstate the live gold I paid for if I didnt choose to keep the gamepass (canceled it within 24 hours).

To have the games linked to play anywhere from your PC to the Xbox, you have to buy the game through the Microsoft store, not Steam. Steam is entirely different and is not connected to your Microsoft account in any way. Unfortunately you will not be able
to access any game bought on Steam through your Xbox console.

Game Pass Ultimate includes both Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold, meaning if you cancel Ultimate you cancel everything under it, including Live.

I suggest contacting support about your subscription and see if you could get a refund for the remainder of your 5 months of Live.

If that doesn't help the only thing you can do is consider subscribing again.

Sounds like you just cancled all your subscriptions for Xbox. Depending on the version of GamePass you had, you will lose the GamePass and Xbox Live if you had subscribed to UltimateGamePass. Unfortunatelyt you will have to subscribe to the services again.

Steam and Xbox are not compatible on the PC and there is no crossplay between the two.

If you have gamepass ultimate then you can download the gears of war special edition for free and get all the bonuses included with the game. If you cancel it you will have too sign up for it again unless you can persuade microsoft too refund you any lost
xbox live time, but then you will still need an active gamepass too get the game for free. Gears of war 5 is cross play but you will need the right edition of the game too play it on each platform, e.g. pc version for pc users.
