So, one day I could no longer sign into my account on my Xbox 360. Naturally, I went onto Xbox.com to see if I could login there. So, I was very surprised when i saw my gamertag was NOT TheElf555 - as stupid as that is - but . I guess what
happened is somehow a second account was created on my email, and then took priority over my actual account. The only access to it i get is when I wait for half an hour to login, even though i get two different error codes: 8015D002 and 80154016.

Really, what I'm asking is how can I delete , but not TheElf555, preferably without having to restart seven or eight years of save on data on around sixteen games, and without deleting my email from Microsoft as well - Although, I will delete
    it if I have to.

    :)

Hello, your "profile" is your "gamertag" if it was an online profile. If you had a different gamertag previously, from the looks of your post I'm guessing it was "Roguemant". You will need to download your profile using the e-mail and password associated
with that account. If you can't remember what that e-mail address is you will need to contact phone support and speak with them about this.

Each gamertag can only have one e-mail attached to it, so you would need to use the e-mail associated with the gamertag "Roguemant" to be able to download that "profile" to your XBOX 360 console. If you have access to your previous XBOX still and that that
account is still accessible on that console you will be able to view what e-mail is on that gamertag by going to the XBOX 360 Dashboard > Settings > Account > Manage > Windows Live ID. The e-mail should be listed there, login with that e-mail.

    What happened to my Gamertag?

Hey FlaminNimrod! Are you sure that's the error code you're receiving? As there are typically only 8 digit error codes, perhaps there is a 0 missing in there? If you could check and make sure that would be great!

To address the issue of this alternate Gamertag 'WalkingPurse4', I'd suggest logging into the account on your console and changing the Microsoft Account email associated with it. This will hopefully free up your old account to continue to use the email address
    you had attached to it!

To change the email associated with that Microsoft Account you can take these steps:

    • Navigate to the Settings Hub (far right on the dashboard) and select Account.
    • Navigate to Your Information panel and select Account Security.
    • Select Change Microsoft Account.
    • Select Yes once you have created a new Microsoft Account.
    • Enter the password for your current Microsoft Account.
    • Enter the Microsoft Account and password you would like to use.
    • Complete the prompts to save your change.

And one last thing I'd like to add! In case you encounter that 8015D002 error again, there are some steps you can take. Just check out our support article on

Error code 8015D002 occurs when you try to sign in to Xbox LIVE
    .

Let us know how it goes! What happened to my account? :)

What sounds like happened is the email you thought was associated with TheElf555 is not the email you signed in with. and when you went to xbox.com and signed in with that particular email it created a new xbox profile for that email.

The best way to figure out what email is associated the theelf account is to contact xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us and provide them that gamertag and if they can verify the ownership of that account they can provide you with the email
    associated with it.

I had an unknown second account showing when I tried to download my profile and it turns out it belonged to a family member who I had linked to my Microsoft account. Log in to account.live.com and check your Family settings on the left-hand side.

  6. Greetings. As steeledwand7664 mentioned, we recommend contacting
    Chat or Phone support
as they'll be able to take a closer look into an account accessibility issue such as this.

It's likely that you accidentally signed in with a different email address that does not belong to your original Xbox gamertag. This would create a whole new account with an auto-generated gamertag such as LiveImpala35304.

    what happened to my account?

yeah, i changed my password as soon as i got back home, but it's just strange, my old password was near impossible for anyone to have figured it out, it was more than 35 characters long. and yeah....i'm sure Xbox Support won't be a help to me, they never
have been in the past. i guess it's my only option though. :/

Your gamertag is the same as your profile so you will need to go onto your Xbox Guide menu and scroll down to Recover Gamertag, then follow the onscreen instructions. Before doing this I highly suggest you delete your profile from your hard drive so there
    are no problems like corruption.

    I hope this helped!
