What Happened to HBO Go?

Just got my X1 last night, and I was downloading all of my apps but I can't find HBO go, am I missing it or is it just not on the X1 app store yet?

No - MS doesn't develop the app, HBO does. Something nasty happened between HBO and MS as HBO seems to have dropped the XBOX One app all together and is concentrating on Play Station now. They just released HBO Go for the PS3 not long ago and has announced
PS4 is next - crazy huh? Google it if you don't believe it.

 

Apps freeze and completely shut down my system

I have the same issues, but only with HBO go. Happened twice last week when I was watching GOT. Anything happening on your end?

 

It's coming, as it has already been announced, but it's not here yet and at least as far as I know, there's no official release date for it yet. I would, however, count on it being out by the end of the year.

 

@burning TODI. Thanks man that's a great ideal! I'll call the HBO CEO, and see what he says about it. Don't know why I didn't think of that myself.

@Galatic Geek. Thanks man for the response. Luckily only show I watch on HBO is Game of thrones so no rush for it lol

 

I'm pretty sure X1 will have HBO Go before the next GoT season. At least I would hope so. They have plenty of time lol

 

@Gypsy...believe it or not, the ball is in HBO's court. It is their perogative as to how, where, if, and/or when to release their app. Microsoft does not own Netflix, HBO, Hulu, Starz, USA, Xfinity, etc. MS can approve their app when they (or the software
company they hired) submit an app.

 

PS- you can email, let them know you are a customer, and ask nicely to please release the app soon:
