What happened to full kinect calibration/setup

In short, the roll-out of New Xbox One Experience, removed gestures. Its not possible to roll back, this update is required and for now a final change.

*Note: While this was removed from the dashboard, its not to be assumed that Kinect games have lost skeletal tracking capabilities as the hardware still remains unchanged. 've not read where this change has removed developer capabilities from previously
released games that use skeletal tracking. The Dashboard and home screens no longer will track gestures or you for that matter. Think of the three red squares on the Kinect being off unless a game turns them on.

Also, all 3.5m controllers no longer are built with the infarred sensors on the front.

Now the Kinect is:

-IR Blaster

-Camera

-Chat device

-Voice Commands

 

Well then... This sucks. Thanks Microsoft.

 

I agree it sucks and what's worse is that Microsoft isn't offering a device for maybe $60 that is a mini camera with an or blaster and mic.

It's what ppl did want but nothing over the top because it only makes sense for specific games.

 

Yeah, I just tried to contact customer support about this, and they redirected me to an Xbox Uservoice forum. They told me I should just post a suggestion to put the feature back... as if this was an optional feature! Without it, games are broken!

Anyways, I set up the stupid "suggestion" alongside other wonderful gems like "let us choose Cortana's voice!" /facepalm.

Do me a favor and go upvote it, so that maybe their stupid democratic system will bring the bug fix to their attention.

So is this why my Kinect always says "something is in the way" when I try to set it up again. *** you MS and your *** support on this giant turd I bought.

 

Yeah, gestures have been removed, but they're still coming out with new content for Xbox Fitness which to use properly needs the Kinect. If they were going to remove the whole Kinect camera setup, then that option should be removed from the Kinect settings.
They have two "buttons" which do the same thing right now in Kinect setup. To me that seems like a bug, not an actual removal of a feature.

 

Playing xbox fitness with the kinect is just frustrating now. Half the time where it detects my feet is at my elbows and any time i go to floor for situps it loses tracking. Id say that is a bug and breaks the kinect.
