    need help in redeeming a code please

    The current prepaid 12 month membership expires March 2014. I got another 12 month membership off Amazon and when I go to enter the code i get a error message 0x80169CF9. Does the previous membership need to expire before adding a new one? Why won't
    it take the code?

    I have my 1 month free gold membership from the box of the console and a 12 months gold membership that I just bought last month and I've been trying to redeem the 1 month gold membership since yesterday but after clicking the confirm,it says "Something
    went wrong"(it also happened plenty of times when I tried to redeem my 12 months gold membership yesterday when my 1 month gold membership won't work). Also when I redeem the code for 12 months gold membership, it was read as 1 month and sometimes the 1 month
    was read as 12 months so I'm confuse if the code is the problem or there is a problem in xbox.com.

    Says your xbox live billing account has been locked from making purchases. Call xbox support so we can help get this straightened out error code 80153021 or another time says there's a problem with the service error code 80182300 ...grrr !!

    Same problem here. Support told me I wasn't blocked and my account is fine...I'm sure yours is too. I got that message after trying to use a pre paid xbox live gold membership so it's obviously an error or bug.

    There is a widespread problem right now with redeeming codes as well as purchases. They are aware and working hard to fix it according to Support.

    Same problem here. Support told me I wasn't blocked and my account is fine...I'm sure yours is too. I got that message after trying to use a pre paid xbox live gold membership so it's obviously an error or bug.

    How long was the membership for? 1, 3, 6 or 12 months? Or was it a trial membership of 48 hours or 1 week?

    I'm thinking that you may have added a trial membership as your gamertag is showing as silver.

    If it was a trial membership then it is not a gold membership and only gives limited access to activities on the console.

    0x80169CF9 & XBOS3008 Prepaid 12+1 problem

    Thanks Cloud, I just had an email from 3rd line, confirming what you said too.

    I only had 1 month before my live membership ran out, they cancelled it and sent me a 1 month code.

    That worked and then the 12+1 code worked.

    All sorted now :)

    It's strange that the credit card i removed from my account during this 12 months membership expired in 2010 and it still caused this problem.
