    So today there was an announcement that "For free-to-play games, you will no longer need an Xbox Live Gold membership to play those on Xbox." I'm sure there's an official listing coming soon, but does that mean that all games that
are free-to-play will not require that or does it mean that I can play single player in multiplayer only, or what exactly? I know this is not to be updated into the system until later on but I wanted to see if there was an answer I didn't see.

    It's still asking for gold membership for free to play games??Is gold compulsory to play fortnite and apex legends?

    But in every article they are saying that free to play games does not require xbox live gold membership... like fortnite

    Atleast can i get what free to play games i can play without gold membership please?

    i want to know are you making xbox live gold free? and when will i be able to play free online games on xbox one?
    No. They are not making Xbox Live Gold free. They are only make games that are "free to play" such as fortnite for example, not require you to have gold to play online.

    Other games that are not "free to play" will still require a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to play them online.

    There is no date announced yet for when free to play games could be played online without gold.

    Unfortunately the only way to play either paid or free-to-play games online without Xbox Live Gold are Free Play Days for All.

    Why does one need Xbox Live Gold to play a Beta?

    The games need Xbox Live Gold to play online, even games Free To Play
    They need to change that. It’d be nice to be able to play Free to Play games without gold just like you can on other consoles.

    Thank you for your post. Games on the store that are free to play are available for download can be played in singleplayer without Xbox Live Gold. If the game has multiplayer features an Xbox Live Gold subscription is needed to play.
