What game to buy first for Xbox One?

Just got my Xbox One yesterday. My gaming has been minimal lately and time is scarce. Anyways I come from a MMORPG background. Love the loot and crafting aspects of games. I still love the games but like I said. Time is scarce. Im looking for a game
I don't feel like I need to play everyday and I don't need to invest 1000 hours just to keep up. Destiny looked interesting but the talk of coins and legendaries and such makes me wonder if its a game I will feel compelled to invest a ton of hours in. Call
of Duty just got old for me. My free time is random so I like games I can pop on and get have fun for 30 mins at a time. Loved Halo back in the day so might get Halo but just fishing for others. Also was a fan of Borderlands. I may have answered my own
question with Halo and Borderlands but thought I would just ask. Is Destiny a mandatory time investment to have fun and how is Titanfall?

Gears 3, GTA V and Halo are the top ones on my list from this thread. Gears is over the shoulder 3rd person which took me a bit of getting used to back when Gears one came out but I really prefered it once I got the hang of it. GTA V is just full of
things to do and blowing up a TON of cars for no good reason is a stress reliever lol. Plus it's coming out for the next Gen consoles and you'll likely be able to port your progress over as well so there's that. Halo is Halo but really fun and has an awesome
community.

Thanks mate but I am don't want legacy games like the ones you stated. I want games which are pretty recent out.

 

The Master Chief collection sounds like your best bet

Dead Rising 3 is solid and can be fun. Especially with limited time.

Neverwinter is an MMO RPG that is free on Xbox One

Destiny has little to no story elements. It has stunning set pieces, but the game overall mediocre and does require a grind to do certain missions/raids.

Sunset Overdrive is good fun, that doesn't require a lot of time

Ryse: Son of Rome has a really cool story. Fun combat similar to Batman Arkham, and a cool arena mode that allows you to fight in the coliseum and level up your gladiator.

Titanfall is a solid under appreaciated MP game. Very dynamic with cool set pieces, amd still one of the best things to do this generation is watch your Titan fall from orbit. It isn't very populated but you can always find a game

 

Sounds like your best bet would be "Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition".

There is absolutely tons of replay value in this game which has actually been designed to allow you to keep playing "Forever".

"Diablo" has the potential to suck you in for ages and "Destiny", once you understand how the game works, will require you to spend ages there and for those reasons these are good games to have if they are the only thing you're going to own for a while.

"Ryse: Son Of Rome" is the best looking "Next Gen Game" (admittedly now "Current Gen Game) released on any platform. If you are unemployed or it's the school holidays and you do nothing but play "Ryse: Son Of Rome" on Recruit Difficulty chances are you're
gonna finish the game fairly quickly.

However if you play it on normal or above and play it as a recreational part of your life, rather than the main thing you do for most of the entire day, then you'll really enjoy it. It's brilliant.

To the XBox ONE's credit most of the full game releases are pretty meaty offerings that will take people who game in their spare time a good while to get through.

 

Great recommendation Az... how in the world did I forget Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition. It truly is a fantastic game, with ons of replay value. And he Az is right.... The game is forever

Exactly! If you play at a harder setting you can turn this 5 hr game into an 8 hr game!
Also, try to collect everything in the game. You may get a few more hours added to that.

Try Tomb Raider: DTBEP(Definitely the best edition possible) It's a pretty solid game with simple and smooth game mechanics.

 

DR3 and Sunset Overdrive, both exclusives and tonnes of fun.

OMGoth your right! I should praise the short game play in Ryse: Son Of Rome! It's the best looking 5 hr game in the history of 5 hr games, even though it wasn't in 1080p. (ooops, that

If you don't like killing people as a Roman Centurian then you're a dummy for wasting 5 hours of your life completing the single player of "Ryse".

If you do enjoy killing people as a Roman Centurian then why would you stop playing just because you played through the Single Player once?

You certainly haven't unlocked all the moves after a single playthrough. Diving back into the story again with a wider skill set is even better than the first time around and levelling your online Gladiator to 100 is gonna take you a lot longer than 5 hours.

To Az's point, amd the numerous collectibles and Easter Eggs as well. The ghosts storming the beach after the shipwreck was amazing
