what does Xbox Family actually do?

so I see the sticky post at the top but it doesn't actually tell you what it does?

What does putting an Account into the family tab do?

There is an account in my brother's Xbox's Family tab,one belonging to his friend. I have no idea what that tab does and my parents seem to think that having the account on there makes it to where they also pay for that account's Xbox Gold.

Well I have and it's over communication... that's it no where does Xbox take the time to explain what exactly was wrong. Do they check ALL of my messages including to friends and family actually just family I don't text my friends on Xbox for this role reason

 

On the One, if you set your console as the home console, you only need one gold account. In this case, The Baybutt would be the Parent account, and if you have 4 children, all they need is a Microsoft Account to enjoy all the features of your gold account.

 

Can you use one Xbox Live account to access online stuff, with both the Xbox 360, AND the Xbox One? If you have both running at the same time?

 

You can sign into both the 360 and the One at the same time if that's what you mean. I do that a lot when I'm downloading games on the 360 so I can do something else on the One.
