What does putting an Account into the family tab do?

I don't think you understand how family accounts work

FAMILY accounts let's the parental account control what a child does that's it

No console let's you do what you think family accounts do

Hello do you have your child's account connected to your family account? Once your logged into your account select family tab the select child's name and manage there. What are you trying to manage? I use family account for my son but it seems like something
is missing bbn here.

Well just logged back in thanks for the reply. The problem from what I get is that it might be in my queue however I can not get to the accounts tab under settings tab where it might be waiting to download or if I want to re-download and nowhere does it
tell me why that tab is not accessible. the only ones that are accessible are system, family, and preferences. Privacy, accounts, and one other is not

Just because you changed the date of birth on the account does not mean it changed when an account is originally setup and the date of birth is put onto an account that is the date of birth that will always be on the account.

Now if that date of birth has reached its 18th birthday and you are still getting that message that means your account is still under a family as a child account.

If this is the case you would need to sign into a parent account for the family at account.microsoft.com/family and remove the child from the family and this will put the child account into its own family as an adult.

Now if you do this last step and the date of birth on the account when it was originally setup has not reached its 18th birthday then it will be considered an orphaned account and would NOT be able to do ANYTHING until put into a family as a child account.
