What does one do when someone uses your bank details for online purchase

If someone uses your bank details for an unauthorized online purchase, you should immediately contact your bank or credit card company to report the fraudulent activity and request that they cancel the transaction. You should also change any login information or passwords associated with your account. It's also a good idea to monitor your account statements closely for any additional unauthorized transactions. Keep in mind that you may also want to report the fraudulent activity to the police if the person has stolen your identity or if you suspect that the person may have used your information for other fraudulent activities.

One other suggestion for you - which I did a few years ago.

Open a 2nd checking account (find a 'free' one) and get a 2nd debit card - do it at the same bank you now have an account with and link the accounts in your online banking (if you bank onilne). Then make that new card your credit card for Xbox/Live.

Then, keep next to no money on the 2nd card - only transfer money there form your primary account when you want to make an online purchase/renew Live. That way - if someone does get hold of your account & tries to charge items - they'll be denied due to
no funds available!

To start, the forums platform is not a way that we can set up a call with you. To be clear you are saying that you are getting charged 10.99 per month for a subscription for a Microsoft account that does not have one. And to further clarify, this is a situation where someone is using your Bank details to pay for a subscription for an account you do not own?

Normally, the direction would be to go to xbox.com/refund, however if the purchases are being made for an account you do not own, then it is best to contact your bank because you may be a victim of fraud.

They wiukd tell you the exact sane thing

NOONE can access your card details as it's 128bit encryption and the svc isn't stored

They need that to add any card onto any online account and that requires physical access to the card so someone would need access to the card to even enter it

Not even your bank has access to the svc they can only ask to confirm and they enter it for PII if their computer says it's ok then you pass pii

If you ask your bank for the svc they will tell you it's on your card and ONLY on your physical card

Its not even stored on your bank statement or online banking because ita a security feature

And no you can't add a card without that code

However after they add that code that means they can use your card

But as mentioned without physical access to your card they CANT add your card

If someone gameshared your account well what do you expect never hand over your account details.

They can make any purchase with your xbox account that's why it's a big no no

I too have been caught like this. Bought 3 month Ultimate code in the early days and won't use it because online banking details are required.

If I buy a Xbox Live (now Core) code from my local store I can input that code without sharing my banking details. If I buy Ultimate code I have to share banking details. Inconsistent!

Why does Microsoft Xbox insist on banking details for Ultimate when I only buy codes and will NEVER share my banking details with any online entities? Once bitten Twice shy!

Why does MS Xbox supply codes (through retail cards) for both services but only require banking details for one of them?

If there is a change of policy, like the deletion of screenshots after 90 days, to a policy that requires banking details, my days with Xbox online will cease.

If I spend money on 3, 6, or12 month codes which can be stacked there is no need for a online payment method unless digital games are purchased.

I buy physical game discs and any hardware required at a local retail store that supports employment in my local area.
