What do you think about to Playstation joining to the Crossplay?

Sony has finally stopped fighting the future: A beta for cross-platform play, including support for Fortnite, launches today.

An open beta beginning today for Fortnite that will allow for cross platform gameplay, progression and commerce across PlayStation 4, Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Mac operating systems. This is a major reversal of its longstanding
policy of keeping PlayStation fans segregated from the rest of the industry, after arguing that cross-platform play might even be unsafe. Others in the industry had argued that the policy was due to monetary concerns.

Well I have my reservations but time will tell.

Owning both Xbox and PS4, crossplay was never on my list of priorites.

I don’t play online unless it’s with people I know anyway so as to avoid the muppets who seem to populate the online side of things in ever growing numbers.

For those that do want crossplay I really hope it works out but I do have a feeling things will only get worse.

 

We have both systems in our house, but I won’t purchase the same game for each system.

My youngest son has school friends that have one system or the other, so he can’t play online with all of them. Cross-platform play would allow him to play with all of his friends, which would be nice.

It would stop some of his complaining.

 

Its about time they started thinking this way. Looking forward to the future of cross playform.

 

Its Great Sony finally listening to the community and making cross platform for fortnite. we finally get to verse those PS4 Peeps

 

I have both the Xbox console and the Playstaton console. Xbox crossplay supports.

The Playstation simply does not want to crossplay on its console and he's throwing enough sticks under his feet. And I think that's enough to bother players. They want to measure forces with players from a competitive console.

 

I agree with a majority of people, its a good thing and its about time Sony moved on it.

What I see happening in the future is, games will offer the same level of access as xbox does right now with PC players. You'll probably be able to choose if you want to play with other consoles or not.

Overall, for a game like fortnite it makes since, its FTP meaning you'd want your progression to be on any location you'd like to play.

 

On one hand i think its great, but on the other i have some concerns about multiplayer. Will PS players only be able to party with PS players? Other than that concern im excited to see how xbox players fair competitivley against PS players. Plus its nice
to bring the entire gaming community together.

 

That´s the point of all this, and the benefited are us, the users. And i really like this little warfares begin, PS comunity Vs Xbox One, this sounds really amazing to me, i hope they can inplement this for other games like COD Blackout or BFV...

 

This is beneficial for all players and hopefully we see it expand. Wouldnt it be cool if, a few years from now, most third party titles could be played cross platform? It would certainly prevent the shortage of players in a game that we see every now and
then.

 

Finally, a peace treaty was signed. Both north and south are now united. Winter is coming, but together, we will survive.

 

I believe it's a step in the right direction for PlayStation. I look forward to how this decision will affect future developers decisions to create more cross platform titles.
