What do you guys think about Destiny so far?

I like it, it’s a good game and I think it’s worth 60 bucks certainly. It is unashamedly Halo though, they didn’t even really try to hide that much. It’s slightly darker, but fundamentally it looks and plays just like Halo. Not really anything new here,
unless you think a central hub is revolutionary. It has some basic RPG "upgrades" you can earn and tries hard to hit the "loot" button in your brain, ala Borderlands and both these things work well, but neither are game changers. I would say however you felt
about Halo, is how you will feel about destiny.

Also, in regards to " yozoo " comment, I agree 1000% about the Halo vibe of Destiny. To me, Destiny feels like a better version of Halo 4: Spartan Ops (I love Spartan Ops).

I bought Halo 4 just to play Spartan Ops (I completely ignored the campaign).

Level 16 now... @Docholliday... wow 18 you must of really got some good exp after I left. I had a blast playing this weekend am a little ticked I never got credit for the strike mission on the moon because I was outside the door when the boss was taken out.
Will have to do it again

I agree with everyone there is a strong Halo vibe in this game and that's not a bad thing.

 

Got into MP and now I'm hooked. I do have one say thought, the reapers in mass effect are teddy bears compared to the followers or whatever they are, these guys are nasty at times.

 

@ CoopLL, after you left I spent a few hours working on Bounties and patrolling Venus. I played alone, but man, lot of Guardians farming Venus last night – which worked out pretty sweet. I got a couple more rares, and several uncommons. Don’t hate me (lol),
but they were dropping like flies last night (mainly the uncommons). I’m getting on right now. Have plans this evening so won’t be able to play. Send me a message if you get on. Oh and yeah, you got robbed last night on that kill. It should’ve registered.
Next time through will be quicker though.

 

I will be glad to finish off the PvP achievements , so unbalanced it ain't even fun . Ten year cycle , don't make me laugh , be lucky if people are still playing in ten months !

 

I'm not a fan of pvp. It feels clunky and is very unbalanced.

But the coop is looking great....and we've only seen the tip of the iceberg.

 

Yeah , co-op with your mates is always good fun , whatever the game , but once the story is done it's gonna get old pretty quickly .

 

What's unbalanced in PvP? I do just fine for the most part and would like to know.

 

The fact you do just fine GG is neither here nor there , the fact remains it's an unbalanced experience for anyone who is a low level , unless you've farmed the single player for them legendary/exotic items you get pooped on big time by players who have
been "farming" .

 

Hey Geek.

What's unbalanced about PvP is that people who haven't finished the story keep getting killed by this thing called "The Stranger's Gun".

It's only when they finish the story themselves that they understand why.

 

^ That doesn't sound unbalanced to me, that sounds broken.

 

After some time with Destiny, I feel the game has been over hyped. Solid game, just not what I was hyped up to expect. Maybe in time it will show me why it was so hyped.

 

Still haven't played any PvP yet. I wonder if it is as bad as I am hearing.

 

Haven't been on these forums much since Destiny came out but I'll share some quick thoughts.

I love the game. It's addicting and super fun to play. I enjoy going at it solo or hitting up Vanguard Strikes with my friends. The gameplay is solid and that's the best part for me. The "grind" doesn't feel much like a grind to me because I'm having such
a good time with the game. I'll admit the story is very lacking lol. I wasn't expecting much but I was hoping for something a tad bit more.

My main class is Warlock Level 26 and he has 2 Exotics and 2 Legendaries equipped. This class has been AWESOME for me. I'm usually striking and I do a bounty or two when my buddies are busy. I love using blink and that perfect moment when I unleash my super.
I run a AR, Sniper and Machine gun most of the time. I've also messed with the Sunsinger a bit and I like it once I got it levels up some but Voidwalker is definitely my favorite. (I love my Sunbreakers)

Second class is Titan Level 10, can't wait to level her up. I have a few Legendaries for that class already to go at 20.

Last but not least my Hunter is level 4 and I have a exotic and some rares waiting for her as well. I may not get to him for some time tho. It's hard staying away from my Warlock.

PvP, tried it once and hated it but that also could be me. I was never real good at PvP (except PvZ) so I knew I would suck. The match I played I got killed by shotgun over & over lol. This mode may be fun for others but it's not for me. I am kinda upset
that I have two Exotic Weapon Bounties but won't be able to complete them because they require me to play PvP. I wish they did something like ME3 achievements where you get the option to unlock it doing something in SP or MP. With that said it's not a big
deal because I get nce unlocks from leveling up my Crypt guy.

Well that's all I have. Overall it's a solid game and I love it, well worth the money. BRING ON THE RAIDS!!!
