    What do the controller icon symbols mean on your Xbox One friends list?


    I see sometimes there is a controller icon next to some of my friends. What do they mean?

    I see the Controller symbol you mean, though I'm not sure what it means in this case. The only thing I can think of is number of unique games played, though that seems unlikely.

    It means they are playing on the one and not the 360.

    Permanent plug next to batterie indicator in the upper right corner

    I dont mean the headset adapter symbol, there is a power adapter for a socket next to batterie indicator even though there are batteries and no USB connection
    My apologies, I thought you meant headset.

    I just unplugged my uSB controller cable and still have the plug icon as per your screenshot also, so it may be an icon change.

    Do any of your friends have that icon as well?

    Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. Unfortunately, that symbol means the controller is not detecting the headset. It is not a mute icon. Try updating the controller with the headset plugged in. You can also try a

    stereo headset adapter    .

    click the Xbox symbol from your controller, go to the left where there are friends, make friend and it's done
