What do I do?

So I got an xbox one a few days ago. But I have forgot my password for my main account. I still have that account signed in for gmail, though. I have tried to get my account back from 'forgot password' but It told me a few hours later that I didn't have
enough details to get my account back. When I contacted xbox support on twitter it linked me back to here. Thanks for taking the time to help me..

:)

If you contacted Xbox support they should have set up an unauthorized access escalation to get you your account back and they will also look into any purchases that were made while the account was gone and refund you for those. When the investigation is
done you should receive an email tell you that you can recover the account.

If they have not set up an investigation for you then I would contact Xbox support by phone and have that set-up so you can get your account back.

WHat do I do?
When I talked about Bottlenecked speeds &/or connection, you said "Gibberish" to that too & now you're using it...
You have not referred to any bottlenecks prior to that last phrase.

What I post is not what you post.
For a DoS attack? One method of DoSing is traffic volume. Others include
exploiting open ports.
The size of a packet isn't the issue.
Legitimate conversations are handled using normal TCP contrlol mechanisms. A flood of unsolicited traffic is not.
SYN Flood and IP Flood are two different things.

I believe the best bet would be to call Xbox Support directly, they should be able to verify your account and help you reset your password:
Xbox Contact Us

On that page, click on 'My Account', then on 'Password and Security' then lastly on 'Request a call'

Alternatively, if you are in United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico you can call this number:
1-800-469-9269

Turn your Modems Firewall's IP Flood Detection On & it will block Malicious Attacks.. They are basically Packet Flooding your Modem & overloading it until it drops out & refreshes the connection etc..
You mean disble the PING RESPONCE in your routers security settings, well that may stop it, but usually does not...

The Real Quad, if I can ask but how do you know it really was a DDoS sans the assuming it was so you would be Kicked Offline from Xbox LIVE? What I mean is, are other Devices (say your PC) effected as well?

WHat do I do?

I see, thank you Lost Kauz, no I am talking about those people that get their **** little booters and hit you off for about 10 seconds which is just long enough to get me kicked out of the game so they can win, this has happened to me about 5-7 times already
it gets annoying

how would my ISP help when some idiot hits me offline while I play halo3 50 high
Because a real DDoS is an attack on your ISP, not Xbox LIVE. Xbox LIVE would simply Disconnect because you no longer have Internet Service. It doesn't matter what Application or Device is trying to use the Connection at
the time, it's an attack against your Internet and ISP.

WHAT DO I DO

Hey there, KAT!

It sounds like your console was suspended on top of an account suspension. We are unable to comment on any Enforcement actions taken against accounts or consoles. If you have an active account suspension or a permanent suspension from within the last 12
months, you can submit a Case Review to the Policy Enforcement team. If you have a console suspension, this does not qualify for Case Review, however your Microsoft Account email should
have been sent an email detailing the suspension information.

If you need assistance with any other support issue, be sure to post up a new detailed thread so that our community can work on helping you out. Thanks for understanding!
