What do I do with the Call of Duty disc game when I actually only have digital download

HI, I'm a mother who is very very new to xbox, I just bought one. And I also went to buy the Call of Duty-Modern Warfare game disc for my son......Unfortunately, my xbox cannot load disc, it's digital
download and I didn't know.

I opened the game so I cannot return it either. There's a code inside the disc so I signed up, I don't know what to do at this point. Is there still a way to download the game since I actually bought

so just for educational purposes, what you bought was the Xbox One S All Digital Edition and (assuming) it was Call of Duty Modern Warfare (the newest game) on disc

first off, if you bought both at the same time, its absolutely criminal that the store you got it from didnt bother to ask if you were buying the disc for that xbox. Secondly, the code you

redeemed is for secondary additional content and not the game.

Here’s the situation I would propose to you. You’re right, you can’t return the disc game since it’s been opened except to exchange it for another copy of the same one on disc which will not help you. What you can attempt, however, is if you just bought
that system in the last 30 days, and if you don’t mind paying a slight bit extra, ask the store if you can exchange the digital edition for the regular Xbox one S that takes discs. I worked for Best Buy for the better part of a decade and usually a manager
doesnt mind doing a return if the customer is purchasing a higher priced item

Otherwise, you’re going to have to buy the digital copy of the game which will cost about 50 or 60 bucks. The version I mentioned above will also cost about the same price, but then you have the option of getting disc based games or digital ones depending
on what you guys want to do.

Unfortunately you would have to purchase the game digitally in order for your son to be able to play the game. The code included would have been for either in-game content or a trial for a subscription. It would not have been for the game itself. Since you
would be unable to return the game to the retailer, you could try taking reselling it.
