What can you do about a person on xbox live making multiple gamertags to harass/ban someone?

My younger brother is being harassed by someone on xbox live.

This person is making multiple accounts, being abusive and giving death threats .

We are reporting it via console but this is not stopping anything. This user needs banning , he is incessantly continuing .

What else do we need to do besides reporting and involving police.

In addition to what Smwutches stated you can also set your privacy settings to friends only so only people on his friends list can message him

Only the Xbox Policy Enforcement Team can ban people from Xbox Live. If someone is threatening to ban or hack you, you should report this person immediately. Likewise if the person is spamming, harassing, or otherwise effecting your enjoyment of Xbox Live.

Thank you for coming to the forums with your concern. Unfortunately there is nothing that we can do about Enforcement actions or harassment concerns here on the forums. If you have reported those messages and profile for what you describe, then the Xbox
Enforcement team will take care of those in time. Any account that breaks the Xbox Code of Conduct in some form and is reported will be seriously looked at and the right punishment will be given, but Microsoft cannot control a person from making multiple accounts.
If this person continues to harass you with multiple accounts after they are banned and you are truly concerned, then at that point it's an issue with your local law enforcement to put a stop to that person since harassment and threats of denial of service
is illegal and Microsoft is not the law. Microsoft would only be able to work with law enforcement but can only do as much as ban accounts when they break the Xbox Code of Conduct. I highly suggest you talk with your local police for help investigating this
person who is clearly breaking the law without even knowing it since threats about hacking and other forms of denial of service is illegal in most countries. Xbox and Microsoft can only do so much as ban the accounts he makes as already mentioned.

If this person is causing denial of service attacks to your network, then contacting your ISP is probably the way to go. They can even identify the person, since DDoS/DoS attacks are illegal - if this is what they're doing. Xbox should able to ban the Gamertag
for harassment etc.

Sorry but so long as the person is not doing anything against the ToU or the CoC of the Live service he can continue using that gamertag as long as he wants. If someone was harassing you on Live then you should have Reported, Avoided and Blocked him using
the dashboard reporting tools. Once you change a gamertag it is free for anyone else to take and use.

Also, if a tag is banned/suspended it will stay like that indefinitely so no one can use it.

Finally, it is against the ToU of the forums to call out other gamertags.
