What can I purchase with Microsoft Points

I have about $50 of MS points attached my account and I was wondering what I can use them for? I no longer own an xbox so purchasing dlc isn't really useful. I thought about buying a disc based xbox game or controller for a friend but unfortunately that
transaction takes place on the Microsoft store where Microsoft points can not be used ( doesn't really make a whole lot of sense). It seems I can only purchase downloadable content, music or Window phone game apps, none of which I can use. I miss when the
XB marketplace was attached to games for windows live, at least then I could buy pc games.

Is there anything I can purchase that may be useful? Can I purchase something and gift it to a friend? That doesn't seem to be an option. Perhaps MS will offer me a refund?

Microsoft points

on battlefield 3 the premium expansion pack says it can be the purchase with 4,000 Microsoft points. But I'm still unable to purchase it? I would like to purchase this with my Microsoft points.

I didn't recieve my microsoft points ?

I recently used a credit card to purchase the 12 month subscription of xbox live. It was advertised that with this purchase you will recieve an extra month of xbox live and 800 microsoft points. The 13 months of xbox live are in use at the moment but i didn't
recieve the 800 microsoft points. What can I do to get the microsoft points ?

I'm fairly certain you can gift the "points" to a friend. I remember seeing a thread in regards to that a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, I'm not exactly sure how you do it. It is possible, however. (Sorry)

Are you buying on the PC? Buying points on the web does not give you an error message with an error code. Try buying points on the Xbox360 and send us both the _exact_ text of the failure message as well as the eight-digit error
code beginning with the number 8.

I purchased Minecraft in 2012 on the older Microsoft Points system. The transactions website states that "Transactions related to Microsoft Points will be shown for a period of one year at most."

Is there a way to see older transactions, so that I can actually see what I've purchased in the past?

Hi, I believe I know what you're talking about. All games are purchased with Microsoft points. Games on Demand (full disc based games) are listed with a dollar amount, however when you go to purchase them you can switch your payment method to Microsoft points.
Everything is purchasable with MS points, however only Games on Demand are listed with a dollar price and can be purchased direct off of your credit card.
