What can I do with this broken controller?

For Christmas I got an Xbox One S (White) controller. I know that specific kind tend to have problems so I wasnt surprised when it wouldnt stay synced to my xbox for more than a couple minutes at a time. I requested a repair and today i recieved my replacement.
The menu button on it doesnt work, so no pausing games or ability to access system options through the dashboard. I've tried contacting support and they tell to to request a replacement but the controller they sent me is old and it says that there isn't a
warranty available due to activation date. Idk what to do.

If it is a replacement contact customer service they should have information on the past repair/replacement explain your situation and I'm sure they will be able to assist. Hopefully you have a spare to use in the meantime.

Thats not right because the controller should still be under warranty whether its a refurbished one or not. You bought a new console and is covered for a certain period of time .Device
Service and Repair should be able to register your whole xbox including the controller. If anything you can request a call back and ask to speak to a supervisor. Explain the situations in detail. Request

Your controller should be covered under warranty since you got it during Christmas time. Another options is to try to return the console back to the store you got it from and ask for a new one. Good luck

Yep as long as you registered it you should have no problem getting it fixed, if you have the possibility of going to a Microsoft Store, start there, call them, set up an appointment and they should fix you right up, I had no problems when my surface got
bricked (surface RT) they said come on by, I did and they just swapped it out, no questions asked.

If it is broken and out of warranty throw it away and purchase another one.

I literally just got the controller. I cant afford that crap, whyd they send out a broken controller to replace a broken controller?
