What are your thoughts with the Xbox One Slim?

The internal power supply would worry me if I planned on buying one....but I don't so it's neither here or there for me. I already own 2 XB1s and I don't plan on lining Microsofts pockets by buying a 40% smaller, 4k compatible, not exactly anymore aesthetically
better looking 'S'.

Don't know why they released this they've ripped so much out off the level that its barely Alpha testing never mind beta its gonna do the game more damage than releasing nothing

There are 44 character slots total. 3 are taken by custom characters. A few slots are wasted e.g. each form of Buu has his own slot. Super Gogeta is in a different slot to SSJ4 Gogeta.

That's all I can think off but there may be one or two other examples.

 

Not interested here. bought an Elite about three months ago and that will do. I have no need for 4k until I upgrade my TV which wont be at least until the end of the year. Probably just wait for the Scorpio.

 

Yeah,not to bothered.Don't like the idea of an internal power supply & don't like the colour.

I'm planning on getting another xbox one so hopefully the price on a 1tb will drop once the slim is out & I can get an external hard drive as well & it''l still be cheaper.

 

The Xbox One S does not have a Kinect Port, its Officially abandoned by MS with the Xbox One S.

The X1S has an IR Blaster built-in to the Console for TV controls and Voice Commands via the Headset only and the soon to be failed Cortana (but that's another story for another day).

The X1S also has HDMI 2.0 in High Dynamic Range (HDR), this has been shown to have some better looking colors and color ranges throughout the entire spectrum.

Given even the above I'm going to pass on the X1S and simply wait for the Scorpio. Hopefully MS will quickly try to brush under the rug this failed Generation and move on to a better "one".

 

Well it does look sexy for sure. luckily we can still use our Kinect with it because i use my Kinect everyday. It's a little too late for me as my Day 1 console still works flawlessly. I am however going to get 1 for my son for Christmas.

I'm not sure what the whole HDR is and what bluetooth added to the controller does. I know it has a longer wireless range, but i pull my couch to about 3 feet from the tv when I play.

 

The Kinect is not officially abandoned as it can be run with an adapter, pretty sure its just a space saving thing. If it was abandoned they wouldn't be providing an adapter solution.

 

You can also get the adapter for free if you register your console and it is a console that had to come with a Kinect ie Day 1. Otherwise the adapter is rumored to cost 50 quid.

 

Ah yes, the "adapter" program. Kinda like the one they used to allow Files to be moved from the old MS Xbox 360 proprietary HDD to their new Xbox 360 proprietary HDD. Elephant in the room says, Kinect is dead.

Oh, I am the only one who noticed the price of the larger HDD is a little skewed when simply considering using a much cheaper existing external HDD with larger capacity?

 

I liked the looks of it, finally some sort of grips on the controller. Internal power supply? You would think that the design team would have known better than to put two potiential heat sources within the same package, but some peoples kids!

 

^ I love all the forum hardware designers specialists who think MS haven't researched and tested the internal power supply. I think they probably know a bit more than you lot, given that they wouldn't risk a red ring scenario again as it would be financial
and reputational suicide.

 

I'll be fine until Scorpio and hopefully soon after that I'll be upgrading to a UHD TV as the price of some top brands should have dropped a lot but then as they already have. I've never understood this desire for internal power supplies but good luck with
that.

 

Yop, no "red ring" this gen so i don't see the point to buy another Xbox one.

Also Xbox one S is too white for me.

 

@ genchy having owned an x1 since release its safe to say that reputational suicide is their forte this gen lol.

I don't think an internal psu is going to cause any problems outside of you not being able to replace it though.
