What are your thoughts on the black ops 3 beta?

While I'm not liking the look of the game myself from what I've seen, I've noticed a trend on these forums - "I don't like/haven't played CoD and want a return to the older games!"

While you're welcome to your opinions, it's the same old tripe I've been hearing for the past 3 or 4 CoD games from this community. I would've thought you guys would've gotten over it or given up by now...

 

The beta was lame. They need to go back to WWII or NAM or HD version of COD 4 or W@W like some you's mentioned.

 

I honestly believe if they did go back to WWII or 'Nam or something they've already tried, you guys would still not be happy. That's the way nostalgia generally works - it's temporary. Personally, I like the fantasy idea mentioned earlier.

 

Not matter what time they went back/forward to you would never please everyone.

Personally though I think with COD they should go back, future settings/weapons etc has been done enough now and it needs a change even if the change is something we have seen before.

 

People either complain it's more of the same or it has changed too much. The devs can't win with you people.

 

Not a fan, sorry. I've tried it, but all this jumping off walls and stuff just doesn't appeal to me. Plus, its far too fast paced now.

Also, anyone who talks about lag and NAT in the same sentence doesn't understand how the internet works. NAT type has zero effect on your connection speed or ping.

 

Im not sure how this franchise became so popular with games like Battlefield out. Just goes to show you that popular doesnt mean "best" or "better". CoD is like the Justin Beiber of gaming, he's very popular but listening to him makes you want to stab yourself
in the junk, or urinate shards of glass.

 

Geek - Why would we give up on a series we love? They keep pushing the future and sales keep going down. Sooner or later they will listen to their core fanbase and stop trying to please MLG/Noobs/casuals who want "change".

I loved COD 4/WaW/MW2/MW3.

We don't want Advanced HaloFall. We want Call of Duty. Don't they remember who was king before COD came around? Halo. If we wanted to play Destiny, Halo or Titanfall...then we would play those games. They need to stop trying to copy other titles and
stick to their guns. This it the 5th straight title set in the close to distant future. It isn't working.

For me it's not nostalgia. I still play COD 4/WaW to this day. I picked up new copies of MW2/MW3 last week. When I watch COD twitchers I watch COD 4-MW3.

The earlier call of duties had redeeming qualities. These past few CODs have veered off course. We don't want jet packs, lazer beams and invisibility cloaks. It's time to grab the wheel and get back on track.

True that NAT and lag are different. But what you say is not true at all. In fact, I personally mentioned them in the same sentence. And I understand how the internet works perfectly well. But that does not change the fact that on this game you will
get issues with open NAT on the Xbox and moderate on the game. That is an indication something is wrong. That there is something going on with the game itself. With the moderate NAT on the game there is also that ping issue.

I will say from experience that just because something does not seem related because typically they are not does not mean that it cannot indicate another issue. In this case the moderate NAT for the game is indicating something is going on with what the
game tries to do with the connection. I did not program on the game and cannot say for sure what it might be. But whatever it is the game itself is showing a moderate NAT when these issues are going on. Even with the NAT open. And it is open. I had an
exact issue like this (not NAT related just program related) where I was asked to help troubleshoot some errors that were eluding the main programmers (can be very helpful to have outside eyes at times). The issues were not even related to the error they
had set up. It was actually something else but was causing that error to come up. Simple fix but it can be hard to find your own errors all the time.

I would guess that the NAT being open, displaying as moderate, the ping report going crazy, and the lag all happening together are indicative of something outside of the NAT. For the most part seems to be wireless related from what I have read around about
it. Also, leads me to believe they should be able to eliminate most of that issue before launch. And with this being the only game doing this on the consoles my sons play on I would suspect the game needs a patch.

 

The beta is OK, better than Ghosts, but the jumping and wall running feels terrible compared to Titanfall, I do like the sliding though. I just hope they don't mess up zombies.

 

Titanfall does the wall running and jet-packs better. Maps, graphics, and control, seem better than Ghosts; seriously doubt it will be a purchase though. I would prefer C.O.D. go back to W.W. II or Modern Warfare type game play...as Titanfall does the "future"
better I.M.H.O..

 

It feels like Advanced Warfare with extra gimmicks added.

 

I guess I must be the only one who loves the beta. It was already going to be a day one purchase but *** now I can't wait to get my hands on it! Best CoD since Blops 2. Ghosts was balls and AW I liked but this game is so much better.

 

Interesting thoughts here. I'm gonna jump on here in a bit and check it out.

 

The Beta just lagged out every time I tried to play it.

What I saw wasn't awe inspiring, but then again they have become a cash cow for the devs and I don't think I will be purchasing this on any console.

Shame really, over the years have had some great fun playing previous versions.
