What Are The Great Japanese Games Worth Playing On The XBox ONE

So thanks to disc games being region free we can enjoy Japanese games on the XBox ONE.

What are the best Japanese games that are worth playing on the XBox ONE then?

Well, I'm guessing the more games the Xbox One has that go after Japanese consumers, the more sales for Microsoft in Japan. Phil Spencer mentioned that are several unannounced Japanese-developed Xbox One titles
on the way, many of which will be revealed this year.

MGS V....Not great but that's the only japanese game i played this gen ,so far.

 

Don't really like promoting the other console but far more Japanese games on the ps4

 

Ni no Kuni 2 is coming, plus Disgaea 5: Alliance Of Vengeance is...whoops, wrong forum. ;-)

 

There are some great Japanese games on the Playstation 4.

"J-Stars", "Sword Art Online", "Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed", "Onechanbara Z2: Chaos - Banana Split Edition".

In some ways the XBox ONE seems to exist to give Japanese gamers that taste of that quirky weird Western Gaming World that Sony's PS 4 provides so that Western gamers a taste of that quirky weird Eastern Gaming World.

Unfortunately we never got "Idol Masters" for the 360. It was always region locked so we never got to experience it. Whereas if we get something like that for the ONE even if they don't push for a Western release at least we'll be able to play it.

That being said there is a mini Japanese Invasion on it's way.

"Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" is upon us next week with the largest roster ever in the franchise's history and not long after that "Arslan: The Warriors Of Legend" will be gracing shelves.

That should be enough 'Japanimation' to keep me going for a little while at least.

 

Az, there isn't much diversity yet for the xb1, you'd be better getting the playstation for *** games. I know this is the only reason I bought one. I wonder if the ff7 remake will ever be on the xb1? Squeenix would be insane not to consider it.

 

Life Is Strange. By Square Enix, who is Japanese. But the characters in that game aren't Japanese. Also Final Fantasy XV is planned by Square Enix. They announced it in 2006 as Final Fantasy XIII Versus, it's 2016 and they still haven't got a release date.

 

That's like saying that just cause 2 is Japanese

I am playing Ikaruga on the xb1, it actually looks great. It turns out that FF7 remake is a ps4 only affair, I think this will remain this way unless we get an exclusive that interests the East. I happy with what the xb1 is and does, it like it more with
a sequel to Sunset Overdrive. We will be getting Dark Souls 3 which I think will be a killer.

 

^ The recent FF7 HD port is console exclusive but so far the remake is being touted as play first on ps4. Sony still hold the global publishing rights to FF7, whether that extends to the remake isn't clear. I expect it'll come to xb eventually though, SQ/Enix
wouldn't want to lose those extra monies.
