What are the best xbox one compatible external hard drives for less than $100.00?

Running out of space on my internal drive need to purchase external drive. Any suggestions on reliable drives for less than $100.00.

right going off subject a bit what is the best compatible external hard drive for the 360 please

 

Hard Drive Storage Limit

Going by the description I'd imagine you can't use that drive for games, the video files less than 4GB is a bit of a giveaway as it means it's FAT32 formatted. Can you see Microsoft allowing anything other than a closed Xbox format for additional game storage?

Edit: That they call it a media drive is also a bit of a giveaway.

 

If you get a lot games in a year. Any externals under $100 will not do. You need to spend more then that. Because a 1TB or 2TB is less to have space to store your downloads on. But spend more. You will have more space to hold more games in the long run.

 

Believe on paid $59 or $69 a year ago for a Seagate 3.0 1Tb; it's been a reliable drive.

 

I would suggest going higher than 1tb, but if you can only afford that then I suggest Western Digital, mine has been very good.

 

Like D33dles, I too found the Seagate 3TB drive for about $60. You will see them for $120 most of the time but it shouldn't be too difficult to find one at a decent price. This drive is the best bang for your buck and I highly recommend it

 

Edit: I now see that D33dles got a 1TB drive, not the 3TB. I, however, have the 3TB drive

 

Have a look on Amazon you can get either a Western Digital 2TB or Seagate 2TB for less than $100 personally I've got the Seagate but the WD is meant to be good also

 

If I were you, I would be constantly checking websites like Slickdeals that post deals from all over the web. I did that and waited days until Amazon finally offered a 2TB Western Digital HDD for $69.99 (The 1TBs are usually $59.99 while the 2TB are usually
between $80 and $90 depending on whether you go Seagate or WD) so I pounced on it in a heartbeat.

I am not really a fan of Seagate as I have heard they have a higher failure rate than WD.

 

You know what? I was talking in Aussie dollars, haha, you can't get a 2tb WD for under $100 over here unless it was on sale. After taking this under consideration I was suggest over 2tb WD if you can afford it.

 

I'm the same as saviormoney...the Seagate 3tb is the best deal I come across. Got it off eBay for under $100 brand new for Christmas and works perfect. I got 100 games downloaded and so far and still got 1.5tb left. It started me with 2.7tb or something
after formatting for the Xbox so it does require a chunk first.

Western Digital, 4TB External HD.

I have the Seagate 4TB which is the same one Major Nelson was using when they came out but a friend who works in IT says Western Digital is the best make to go for.

 

Western Digital 4TB Desktop HDD's (USB 2.0 - 3.0 are higher in price) can often be had at local big box stores in the US (wallyworld etc) for less than $130 bucks.

I wouldn't buy a seagate at all as, from my experence, I've had no luck with them.
