What are and what can developers do with smartglass and kinect?

I only ask this question cause Ive seen some cool things and was wondering what developers could do to take it even further. So far Ive come up with two ideas. A golf game using both. Using smartglass on your phone or tablet placed on the floor kinect sees
you bend down and place the ball. Now you see the ball on your device. Now you can adjust your stance in relation to the ball and what club youre using. Also you can keep your head down as if you were playing real golf. Take your swing and then look up. You
can follow your balls flight from your golfers point of view on your tv or from the ball on your device. No idea if any of this is possible. Another idea I had was using kinect with a light gun ( do they even make gun games anymore? ).you would use the kinect
to duck behind cover. Bring on House of the Dead!! Lol.

Anyone else have ideas as to how developers could possibly utilize both of these technologies in a meaningful way?

I do agree a little bit, developers do tend to stick with what they know and what they are good at. It can be risky to try different genres

I've been talking a lot about Kinect, but I can't wait to see what developers also do with SmartGlass. I don't know if it will be from the release, but I do recall seeing a video of the developers of Watch Dogs doing some things that require SmartGlass to truly appreciate.

 

Forget to ad that with golf you could see how you ball lies ( in the rough, buried in sand, on top of the sand, etc

 

Every game that has character creation should use kinect IMO to scan your face into the game no matter what graphical art style.

 

You can develope the poduct in anyway imaginable......

A liitle vague there Kaos. Just brainstorming. I'm tired of playing games the same way so I'm just wondering how innovative people can be. This isn't a love it or hate it thread. Any creative ideas that really make the technology relevant to games. Besides
dancing.

 

Finger painting with Kinect! I can only imagine...

Seriously though; just have a novice art program where your fingers are the brushes.

 

You could deal cards with smart glass.

 

That would be great for my daughter. Reminds me of the demo when the original kinect was announced. The interactive sesame street episodes were pretty cool. Plus the augmented reality in kinect party is fun for the kids. My nieces and nephews always ask
for that. I know those things are gimmicky but who cares . Its still fun to watch the kids play. Fun labs had some interesting gimmicks too. The question is how can those things make for a good game? Whether its kinect only or in conjunction with a controller
I think developers just don't know how to tie it into a meaningful game experience. Same with smart glass. Calling plays in madden or creating a playlist in dance central is cool and all but the most innovative thing I've heard about was Sforza horizons GPS.
But unless there is a way to clip my phone to my controller I don't know If people really bothered with it.
