What all is saved to the internal storage of an Xbox?

To keep it brief, I was finally fortunate enough to update to a Series X and while doing a network transfer, noticed a large discrepancy in storage space availability. The OS on the Series X along with anything else that immediately takes up space seems to have gotten smaller; 802/1k GB available instead of 781/1k on my Xbox One. Even with the extra 21 GB taken into account there's a 93ish GB discrepancy between the two with more overall space being on my Series X. I've checked that I have all my games/dlc and have verified that the file sizes are the same.

As the question asked, is there anything stored on the internal that I need to worry about aside from captures and games? Is the 93 GB discrepancy just saves or something else I'm overlooking?

cache, system storage, reserve, recording cache as the files will be bigger due to higher res etc etc, it is normal.

Thank you for giving all that details. Please note that your internal storage has a reserved space for saved games, console software, and other system functions. You won't be able to see its full capacity and since it's a new gen console, it may differ to your Xbox One console.

To free up space, try to remove leftover add-ons and shrinkable games:
Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
Select My games & apps > See all > Manage > Free up space.
Choose Leftover add-ons or Shrinkable games, highlight an item from the list, press the Menu button, then select Uninstall.

If you wanted to verify that, you may perform a factory reset to remove all your data. There's an option to keep your games and apps. Your account data and saved games would be synchronized from the cloud once you setup your console.

Sequential power cycle did not solve the problem. The XBox does not seem to find any storage at all. When I check for storage devices, it says 'No Storage Devices found'. Shouldn't it see the internal 4 GB drive?

What would cause it to not 'see' an internal 4 GB drive for storage?

Because it cannot apply any updates or let me d/l or save a user profile, I also cannot save any games I play.

Also, any idea what the 3F34A-0000-0080-0300-8007-000F status code means?

Do you have an external storage device plugged into your Xbox One or are you trying to save to the internal storage?

Hello there,

Thanks for coming to the forums. Have you reformatted the Hard drive or removed it. As most saves are not saved to the cloud on the Xbox 360 it is all saved on the internal hard drive. If for some reason you cleared it then yes all that data is gone. You
can enable cloud save in the storage.
