What adapter do I use to get audio through 3.5mm headphones/speakers?

I have an xbox 360 elite with HDMI out and of course I have the composite AV cable as well. I have an HDMI monitor that I want to play on, but there are no speakers built in. I connect the HDMI from the xbox to my monitor and I have video, but no sound.
Is there an adapter for the AV cable, or an adapter I plug into the AV cable slot on the back of the xbox, that will allow me to plug 3.5mm headphones/speakers in? I hope I explained this sufficiently as I just want to get audio, thanks!

    :)

  2. Will the xbox one headset adapter make the controller output game sound in any headset?

Hi everybody, Before I buy the headset adapter I want to completely make sure that I will be able to get game audio through my controller. My question is; Will I be able to use my 3.5mm mp3 headphones with the adapter? Thanks in advance.

XBOX One Chat Adapter & Turtle Beach Issue

The chat adapter pulls game audio and chat to the headphons. I'm using a pair of Bose headphones with an inline mic. Works a charm with headset adapter. No wire to console. Its wireless. Just plug the 4pole 3.5mm plug into adapter, and I get game audio and
chat. If you dont believe me, do some research.

Does anyone know how to connect speakers to the Xbox series s with only just a monitor and no pc?

    Hi,

If you plug in headphones into the 3.5mm headphone jack do you hear audio?

Are you sure the audio volume is turned up on your monitor settings?

    What 'speakers' did you buy?

Most PC type speakers that connect via a 3.5mm audio jack should work. However, as the audio output port doesn't provide power, you'll need a set of powered speakers connected to the mains supply.

    Xbox Startup Splash Screen Question

There shouldn't be a delay...I get no delays on audio when running my headset through the controller.

Am curious: Why are you running the speakers through the controller? Would it not be better to run them through the monitor? Far as I know, all monitors without speakers have a 3.5mm headphone/speaker port to plug them in.

How to get audio after connecting the vga cable to pc monitor? Please Help

You can't get sound through a VGA cable, that's definitely right. I'm not sure which 3.5mm audio jack you're talking about, but if you can connect the red and white cables from the AV cable to a 3.5mm audio jack and connect that to an audio INPUT on your
monitor, that should work for sound. You would of course need to make sure that it's an audio input on your monitor (not a headphone out jack) and that you have either speakers in your monitor or headphones to use.

Why cant i hear sound from my monitor

There are lots of HP monitors called 'Pavilion' what's your monitor model number?

The vast majority of monitors do not have built in speakers. If your monitor has a 3.5mm audio jack, you'll need to get some external speakers or plug in headphones to get sound.
