    We've lost your TV signal - November update


    I've read they are not bringing the next update until February. The reason they have given is stability for the holiday season...... This is great, however, not so great for us suffering bugs they have introduced with the November update!!! Having this bug
    for over 4 months, isn't really acceptable..... this is of course assuming they even fix this bug in the next release!!!!

    Just adding my name as someone else seeing this exact same issue. This is how we watch TV in my house (no USB tuner, pass-through from DirecTV). Unplugging either end of the HDMI cable fixes the problem, as does (eventually) restarting the Xbox. Worked perfectly
    pre NXOE.

    I'm trying the power saving mode on my sat box since that should turn off the HDMI after 4 hours, which (after waking it up again) will hopefully reset the HDMI negotiation.

    Also noticed that the passthrough is juddery sometimes, which can be fixed by quitting any running games. Again this didn't happen pre-update. Think they rushed it out.

  3. Yup, same here, TV signal was working fine up until the update, now I can't get it to work again. Sometimes it'll pop on for a few seconds, or randomly start to work, but for the most part it just stays dead air no matter what I try.

    Another temporary solution that has worked for me is turning off the boot to TV. I now obviously have an additional step to get to the TV, but at least I don't have to get on my hands and knees to disconnect the HDMI lead!!!

  5. It's a real shame to see identical issues such as this one that were reported through the preview program for every build since November 5th get ignored and released to the general public.

    Lets hope that somehow they fix this issue and the dozen other TV issues in January.

  6. Hmm, I have a very similar problem BUT unpuging and restarting the SAT box doesn't resolve anything nor has a factory reset but all the HDI devices and different cords work fine on my other xbox one and TV's

    just one day it stopped just before Christmas which seems due to a preview update on 12-22

    Just asking as I have a thread open in the preview section too

  7. My live tv quit working the beginning of the week. I've plugged the hdmi cable from my dvr, which is owned by Comcast, into my tv and it works perfectly. I don't know if there was an update to xbox live as I have my system set to download automatically
    but there is no reason as to why it should have stopped working. I tried resetting my video settings as well, to no avail.

    Why isn't Xbox saying anything. They have me set to pay $115 for a repair that now seems isn't a repair problem.

    If I switch an app to TV from another app it will sometimes give the 'we've lost your TV signal - but within 5 seconds the TV signal will come on. Now - in the past week I've had two instances of after watching Netflix and then going to LiveTV I've had the
    'we've lost your TV signal' message stay on. I was able to recover by unplugging the XB1 power and replugging it in to do a hard boot up again. I have a DirecTV DVR HDMI output that goes to a 1 to 2 HDMI splitter and then one leg of the splitter goes directly
    to an A/V receiver HDMI input and the other leg of the splitter goes to the HDMI input of the XBOX (and the HDMI output of the XBOX goes to a different A/V HDMI receiver input). Whenever I have trouble with the XB1 TV path - I just switch to the other A/V
    receiver input (that bypasses the XB1 through the other splitter leg. It was a $30 splitter that works around this XB1 TV issue with a simple push of my receiver input select button.

  10. Any Update on this issue at all Microsoft? The February update should roll out soon. It would be nice to have some acknowledgement of the issue or a timetable on any possible fox?

  11. Well I'll say this...while previewing the Feb update, I still can't watch tv. Even purchased a brand new HDMI high density cable. So it's pretty stupid that I have to watch tv the old fashion way.

    Kinect and HDMI in are now pointless features.

    Here it is Feb 2016 and still not fixed, getting really frustrated. It seems like xbox/microsoft don't care. Most of the time this piece of crap is a very expensive paperweight, how hard is it to fix this and update, I am disabled and it is extremely painful
    to have to unplug everything just to friggin watch tv

    I've been reporting this "we've lost your TV signal" problem with my X1 and Comcast/Motorola box to the forums for 18+ months now. I even shipped my unit back to Microsoft to "repair" (without results). It's recently gotten worse in that it
    displays the error all the time before usually relenting and showing live TV.

    For those times that it reverts to its old self and doesn't show live TV, the best fix I've come up with is to turn off your cable box. Then, shutdown your OneGuide application (highlight app, push menu button, select quit). Then turn your cable box back
    on. Then restart your OneGuide application. This used to work pretty much first try and with the bonus of no cable unplugging. Since the recent updates, it's had a lower success rate. Those times it hasn't worked, I've had to revert to Plan B which involves
    rebooting the X1 via the button on the front. It's a last resort and usually will take care of it.

    It really is an unbelievably frustrating problem. My son has progressed from saying "xbox broke again" when he was 2 to "daddy. why is the xbox not working again?" now that he's 3. Marking time by my son's advancing language skills describing MS inability
    to deliver a quality set-top box is probably not the advertising campaign they were looking for.
