Most people realize there are always some risks with giving information out, but they have enough confidence in their own ability to rationalize what is going too far and what is not.

It's not that I don't believe that many large corporations would like to know as much as they can about the spending habits of people who buy their products... I'm sure they do and I have no doubt they will track it if they can.

But seriously... what control does it give them? Oooooh... they watch my spending habits and the sites I visit... gasp! They now can build a profile and... and... well, I guess they could try to advertise certain products or customize their ads to make products
and services more appealing. I say good luck to them in that aspect. In the end, I decide what I want and if it's worth the $ I spend.

No company or service has ever forced me to buy something I didn't want... the most they can do with that info is dangle better looking carrots... and if the weak willed bite, they have no one to blame but themselves.

No one losses their purchases for a forced name change unless you get multiple name changes & a account ban.

In that case it's your own fault for not learning your lesson after the first fnc.

No one is forced to have their real name on their profile either.

The op wasn't even worried about putting his credit/debit card on his account,it was the fact that he doesn't trust himself after a few beers,something I can relate to.

Bought many a game while drunk & regretted it the same day.

 

So sony never baned an arabic person for his real name, strip away his games and trophies, and then give his games etc back later? minue the saves and trophies of course.

As you and others have pointed out in past threads. Sony, MS and Steam have pretty much the same TOU/COC rules, so like it or not. How one handles thigs is the way the others will as well.
