Well I am having A disc drive issue.

The reason I say this is because its not so simply to describe. A few days ago I noticed a disc I took out had what appears to be scratches almost on the outermost part of the disc...usually where it occurs theres 1...or two little like half circular scratches.
At first I thought it was somehow something I was doing. I usually when I play keep a disc inside the machine for weeks I almost never use it because I play one at a time for the most part. However I currently was playing two different games. I noticed what
seemed to be very similar scratches on another game disc and I got suspicious. So I purposely started putting the discs in the drive then ejecting them and looking at them. Sure enough the entire outer part of the discs seem to have these scratches forming
around them each time that I insert a disc and eject it...occurs imemdiately. Just to confirm it even further I took a brand new DVDR and inserted it into the drive. It came out with the scratches....and the disc seemed "dirty" after as well like it had somehow
picked up dust.

These scratches....appear to be scratches...but as of now they dont seem to actually be damaging the disc nor is play affected....YET. I can even seem to rub them off but without any proper disc cleaner with me it just seems to smear stuff around....the
actual imprint that looks like a scratch DOES seem to be removable though Whats even worse is like with every problem I ever have I cant seem to find ANYTHING on the internet about this at all. Every disc issue people seemed to have was the perfect circle
one....or the loud noise one. I mean mine makes a slight sound when I put in a disc but I always figured it was the normal disc drive sound they make....unless its not supposed to do that either?

I never liked the disc drive design on the One. My first impression was....how is that supposed to stay clean? Dust will eventually get inside of there wont it? I then took a look at the disc drive wit ha flashlight and some minor dust seemed to be on the
part where the disc doesnt touch....but then there is also the part that seems to be made out of the material that some computer chair arms are made out of? If you even get what im saying......the part that opens so the disc can come in? Im assumed thats designed
to protect stuff from getting inside although I have no idea why they chose that material because its SOFT to the touch and dust seems to stick to it.

So without anything I could really do on my end after ejecting and inserting discs about 10 times I noticed what I think may be normal I just never noticed it before. When a disc is ejected....is it SUPPOSED to be laying there on a slight angle? Meaning
the part thats sticking out of the drive is somewhat facing down? Cause if thats a problem mine is doing that. Doing this a few times seemed to bring another problem to light....there are now impressions on the discs that are a PERFECT straight line from end
to end...almost like that soft material in the disc tray is somehow touching the discs. Amazing how I cant seem to find a single thing about anyone else having this problem.

Xbox 360 slim not playing games

Ok so i have the original disc drive as well but it was having a binding issue where it would not be able bring the disc tray to the proper reading level on it. In my attempt to fix that disc drive, i put in a new laser and worm motor. I will talk to a local
tech guy and see if he can link the disc drive or repair the old one.

I am having this issue as well. Got my console back from disc drive repair last month and haven't been able to "update" (consequently can't log in) since then.

 

I love Xbox and have for years. But my god the support is always so terrible. Nothing but robotic replies from people thanking me profusely for giving them information they ultimately just do't answer the questions or seem to contradict what others heard.

Can someone just confirm one simple thing for me....When I eject the discs....is it not normal for them to be laying there on an angle? If this is not normal....then It would in my mind seem pretty obvious this is causing the issue I described.

Also when on the chat the guy said if I did advancement console that I would KEEP the new console and that would be that. I would rather just get my old console back fixed.....I doubt the cloud saves absolutely everything that I have on my One HD right now
including games on gold my clips etc. That seems kinda pointless for MS to dedicate that much space that people wont even use. So if I do the advanced shipping option....I will be getting a new console all together? Not only do I not want to lose my content.....but
I have been hearing all these noise complaints about the new consoles.....I really dont wanna trade one problem for another.
