Weird XBOX LIVE connection issues - on 2 x XBOX Ones

Hi.

I've had my xbox One for years, and, of course, subscribe to Xbox Live and Game Pass. About 2 months ago I had a weird problem where all of the tabs at the top of my home page disappeared, and my connection speed to my xbox was so low I couldn't even use
the "test connection speed" in the Settings. When I tried to download anything (game updates, MS Store updates, etc) the speed which had been around 50Mbps or 60Mbps was running at about 500kbps, or maybe 1.5Mbps. It was so slow that I couldn't even check
the MS Store for new games, or the Game Pass list to see what else I could play. Even when I ran a game from my disc drive, it took about 10 minutes just to synch the data.

However, all through this, when I checked settings / Test my Connection, it kept telling me that I was connected to the internet.

Obviously I rebooted my Xbox dozens of times and rebooted my router dozens of times (although nothing else In my house had any connection problems). I called MS support and they talked me through doing a hard re-set, and a reset to factory settings,
even removing my profile from the xbox, then re-installing it. None of this worked.

In the end I decided to junk my xbox One and bought a second-hand one. It all worked fine for a couple of months, but now almost exactly the same thing has happened to this one; no tabs along the top of the Home page...

...ridiculous download speeds for new games...

...and the "view my games" tab looks very strange...

As mentioned, I have had NO PROBLEMS WITH THE INTERNET TO ANY OTHER DEVICE IN MY HOUSE IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS. A speed test to my pc and laptop both show constantly around 50Mbps - 60 Mbps.

To add - the "download" speed for games, showing at just over 1Mbps above will regularly disappear entirely, then show around 1Mbps for 30 seconds or so, then disappear again.

And this is the 2nd xbox that this has happened to this year...

Hopefully someone can help - I'm nearly at the "junk the second xbox and buy a PS4" stage...and I don't want to go down that road if i can help it!!

fyi, I called EE (broadband) about the port forwarding cos even after opening the ports it wasn't working and the girl asked me to split the 2 broadband bands (2.4G and the 5G) - and that fixed it...xbox D/L speed immediately shot up from 500kbps to 56Mbps...

In case you can help someone else with that info.

Having similar outbreak of 'weird' issues..

xbox one starts up, game starts...gets stuck at loading screen ( this started two days ago )

switch x1 on get this message " you need internet for this " even though every device in the house is working fine ( this started this morning )

getting mightily PO'ed at Xbox and the lack of basic assistance from Microsoft in general ( oh, 'ask someone in the ambassadors'...? yeah, cheers, so not a real techy just another gamer who thinks they will get some kind of e-cred )

It's just an upgraded layout nothing to worry about on the my games and apps section. Plus about your internet speeds are you using wired or wireless?. They are could be multiple things and limitations due to the connection type due to how many devices connected
ect. But

Okay, going to be perfectly honest with you....

Wired or wireless makes NO difference whatsoever...once this issue rears its ugly head ( and the 'support teams' have exhausted their " have you tried turning everything off and on again" expertise ) its pretty much curtains. This is happening on wired
connections as well as wireless, it just depends which was connected when the issue began.

The general consensus is the iPv4 and iPv6 debacle

As for download and installation speeds, its been this way this entire generation. Its almost as if Microsoft swapped Xbox Live for Sony's bag of sh*te clockwork PSN service from their 'glory days' when they were 'powered by the cell'.

The UI is horrible and has been getting to nursery level stupid for years. ( I wonder how many got refunds for their avatar junk they foolishly bought over the years? )

If I were a more cynical man I would bring to mind the 'issues' that crop up whenever new consoles are launched and begin their lifespan... ( there are reams of info on this )

Burt seriously, don't waste your cash buying another Xbox One....their new console is months away... if that's what you are contemplating ( and I'll guarantee apart from the usual 'teething troubles' that these will have zero problems...until the announcement
of their successor )

Now, 'yes' I know there are going to be the die-hards on here spitting their dummies out and reaching for the report card, but lets be honest, name me one thing on here that is a 'lie' or that is not true and happening to loyal players every single day of
the week?

So, please, all you white knights, before you start pulling your old console war armour out of the closet to begin to fight the good fight just think on...I am a 'staunch' supporter of this platform...and probably for many more good years than most, so
prior to the outraged comments...I ask you: Is it 'me' who has done any of these things? Is it me who has turned Xbox Live into the digital equivalent of 70 year old asthmatic tortoise? Is it my fault that when Xbox was flying high after an amazing generation
with the xbox360 that they then sit back and absolutely hand their crown to Sony? ( please don't tell me you are happy with how this entire generation has gone? )

Take your shaking fingers and point them in the right direction...at Microsoft themselves...they have utterly failed their user base ....and it shows. Just look at the sales of Ps4, look at the developers that have returned to that godawful platform, look
at the standard of the single player games, look at the lack of online always ( which in most regards x1 still is )

no, dear friends, we have been lied to....it is not 'I' who have let this generation slip....so instead of shaking your fists and shouting your trembling voices hoarse at me turn your ire to those that deserve it.
